The Beach Villas

The management, staff, etc has no concept of customer service. I was instructed to pick up the key at some sidewalk vendor booth. When I arrived, no one was there. The employee decided to leave early...totally disregarding the fact that a customer was arriving to pick up a key. The facility itself was nice, but the fiasco over the key was a total turnoff. I go to Key West every year but will NEVER stay there again.

Very cute and comfey except that the bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. Tough for those with middle-of-the-night needs. Not appropriate for those with mobility issues due to multiple sets of stairs. Beach is down the street, walking distance if you're a walker, but not in sight. You can hear people in the next unit very clearly which gives the impression of no privacy. Might be OK for younger singles or couples, but I wouldn't recommend it to older travelers.

Staff was excellant but information from Orbitz for key pickup and location was not good. Love the quiete location. Was close to beach. Some spots on the beach had seaweed but it is the ocean. Look for the light green areas ( no sea weed) People of the area were terrific. Must do the bus tour, the sooner the better. You learn the island, loacations, etc. We did stay in the larger bungalow with the king size bed. Lots of room. Bedroom was the whole upstairs. Kitchen equipped with microwave, fridge, dishes and cookware, toaster oven. no stove.

fantastic. more than i expected

We booked this place because of the location to the beach and the fact that we could save some money and cook at the beach house which was equipped with a "kitchen"-which apparently means a sink,refrigerator and a microwave. The house is tiny...i mean VERY tiny...there is no closet space to put clothes away,the jacuzzi looked liked it hadnt been cleaned in months and it didnt work! when we asked the owner about it he looked suprised...When asked about status of repair the following day he said that the motor was burnt out. Now lets talk about the beach...Smathers Beach smells like rotting vegetation(acknowledged by ALL the locals and the ongoing Gov't clean up)you cant stand the smell much less trying to go in the water! So we had to rent a car..spend TONS of money on food b/c all there was to cook on was a very tiny grill...also the Ad says there is a washer and dryer...well if there was i didnt know about it. Also note Key West is an island,so when add states that there is parking for tenants it does not guarantee you will find a spot ANYWHERE CLOSE TO YOUR VILLA. [...]...unfortunatly we will not go back to this place...Stay at the Hyatt

Quiet and very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Jacuzzi was not working thru no fault of the owner. Smathers Beach was in walking distance but water was full of seaweed. We combined using our car and taxi for trips to Duval Street and restaurants. Cost of taxi about $10/trip including tip. Room had a book full of info about the island. Discounts available for water events thru the hotel booking.

Our bungalow was perfect!! Less then a half of mile from the beach...we had a great view of the fireworks from our private deck. We plan to make another trip and would stay there again!!

Room was very neat and clean and staff was very helpful. No Pool and beaches were not that nice.

The Beach Villa was beautiful. The covered porch was amazing with all of the landscaping. It was like your own private tropical paradise. The hot tub was great too. We were married on Smathers Beach, just a few blocks away so the location was perfect for us. Close to everything, yet out of downtown.It was the perfect honeymoon. We would highly recommend this rental.

This place is not for everyone.Its very cozy so make sure your going with someone you LOVE ! Its cramped and far away from all the activities , its a 12 dollar cab fare to get anywhere but the beach. The beaches usually don't have bars.(big surprise to me) the hot tub is nice but after sweating all day in the heat and humidity didn't get used much.The owner is nice and will give you advice and discounts on activities.
