Also nearby is the Key West Aquarium, which features native aquatic wildlife and the Red Barn Theater where you can catch an impressive performance. The hotel features three award-winning restaurants and bars, including HarbourView Cafe, known for its fresh seafood, Beach Bar, which serves island-style drinks and cuisine, and Chart Room Bar, a local favorite since 1968.

Dining

HarbourView Cafe
Our very own HarbourView Cafe features pristine views of the Gulf of Mexico and our private white sand beach, with a diverse menu of island-inspired Florida Keys favorites and Caribbean cuisine. Fresh Key West seafood is our restaurant's all-day specialty, and after 5pm, prime-certified Angus steaks take the dinner stage as well. Seating is available on the outside deck, or indoors with air conditioning. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from 7AM to 10PM.
Beach Bar
Nothing tastes more like paradise than a tropical cocktail on the beach. Without an ounce of pretense, our on-site Beach Bar serves cool, creative drinks and island-style casual cuisine by the private beach, pool, and gardens of our waterfront Key West resort. It's a relaxed place to enjoy the day, where the dress code is swimsuit casual, and the vibe is always right. Open daily from 10AM to 10:30PM.
Chart Room Bar
Since 1968, Chart Room Bar has drawn throngs of thirsty patrons to its relaxed, laid-back location. Lovingly known as "a weird little bar trapped inside a luxury resort," we're proud to house this legendary local favorite. Mel Fisher often ended days of treasure hunting at the age-old bar. Keeping things authentic, we still serve free popcorn, peanuts and hot dogs, with no blender drinks or tiny umbrellas in sight. Open daily from 4:30PM to 2AM.
One Duval
Pier House Resort & Spa reveals its signature new restaurant, One Duval. Featuring fresh, organic, local and farm-raised fare, the three and five-course tasting menu reflects Chef Maria's inspired vision for a culinary adventure with waterfront views. Tucked into an intimate space overlooking the sparkling Gulf of Mexico, diners of One Duval begin their tasting journey with amuse bouche, compliments of the chef to awaken the palate. While the rotating menu reflects flavors of the season, highlights may include Crab and Avocado Timbale, Foie Gras, Seared Hog Fish or Spiny Lobster Tail. After a sweet ending of Guava & Mango Cheesecake or the signature One Duval Key Lime Pie, guests receive mignardises to conclude their journey. Optional wine pairings are available to enhance the epicurean experience.

Fantasy Fest at Pier House

Would not recommend Fri, Nov 6, 2015
Went for Fantasy Fest and selected 2 queen beds, Traditional Room as that is all that was available in August when I booked. Fine. I can always upgrade. Paid for a party of 3 to 4 with a rollaway request. Called the day before to let them know I didn't need the rollaway as we had a cancellation. They had me booked with a King and a pullout. Huh? Arrived late (7-ish) and asked to be upgraded (I said I would pay for it) as I have read reviews to get a room with a water view. Generic, robotic response We have no rooms available during the length of your stay. Fine. Got 2 queen beds - thanks. Garden view room, 2nd floor. No elevator. Cripes. Lugged luggage and beer cooler (it's Fantasy Fest, folks!) up the stairs. Enter the Hot Box (the room) with A/C struggling and a humidifier cranking next to it. Huh? All tiled room (remember this) was clean except nighstand had crud on it. No biggie. Bathroom clean. Beds made fine, mattress comfortable. Nice flatscreen TV. Mini fridge. Wi-fi a joke - slowwwwwww. Use the coconut telegraph instead. Hoped A/C would get cold but just barely got to a decent comfort level. This would continue throughout stay. I've lived in South Florida 40+ years and I would rather sleep on glass with A/C than have a nice bed and be hot. Balcony has 2 chairs but A/C was blowing hot exhaust and leaking water making it useless. View outside balcony was, well, a garden. Actually, the trunk of a palm tree and lots of leaves. It looked like an episode of Naked and Afraid. Speaking of which, Fantasy Fest! The Hot Box was located close to Duval and was in perfect spot for Mallory Square, Sunset Pier, Sloppy Joe's, etc. Location can't be beat. Ate across street at Rum Barrel with tall sexy blonde server - email me honey. Pool was okay. The beach was akin to a sandbox park but would suit anyone who wanted to sun themselves. No one was swimming as multi-million dollar yachts had churned up seaweed that was rolling in with tides and littering the sandbox. Not their fault. what was their fault was the lack of towels provided. Ronnie and Bonzo should have said Tear down these walls....and how about towels for room 4--. People who stayed there will get that quip. No bath mat, tile floors, 50 lb swinging glass shower door that wouldn't stay closed makes for lawsuit waiting to happen. Begging for towels helped. Did I mention A/C still wasn't working? Okay. Amenities were supposed to have a shuttle, (saw empty golf carts in parking lot and not mentioned on check in), spa (mentioned at check in but I can't review) blah, blah, blah. Grounds of the Naked and Afraid garden were immaculate. Probably because of the maintenance workers using their leaf blowers outside our door at an un-Fantasy Fest hour of 8am. Turtle and koi pond was nice. Hey little turtle...hey little fishies... Ummm....ummm....did I mention location was great! Homeless people on Front Street and Duval also had a great location. I might stay there again if room had a better view, A/C had functioned, towels had been serviced better, had an elevator....whatever, Fantasy Fest! Dasvidaniya! Towels, please.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location

Would recommend Fri, Oct 2, 2015
Excellent hotel in a perfect location for wandering around Key West. Great collection of bars and restaurants near by see my other reviews for recommendations, but Turquoise was so good I need to mention it again. The Lenai rooms are certainly worth it, room 281 is above the bar and on our last night we had a little noise in the early house, but nothing to write home about. The hotel has a good selection of bars and restaurants if don't want to wander any further and both the pool and the beach are fantastic (I don't know why one reviewer thinks the beach was a joke!), Andreon deserves a special a mention for keeping us refreshed around the pool.

GREAT START TO KEY WEST!

Would recommend Tue, Sep 22, 2015
We own a time share in the Keys, and wanted to add a few extra days. I looked at every higher end hotel, and decided on the Pier House. Great decision. First, all properties in the keys are on the high end, but we wanted to stay at the Mallory Square end of Duval Street, as our timeshare is at the southernmost end. Perfect location. If it's crazy and party that you want, that end of Duval is where you'll find it! Sloppy Joes, Hogs Breath, Irish Kevin's....all popular hang outs, and walking distance. So you can crawl down Duval and stagger back to your hotel, and feel fairly certain you'll make it back to your room! Our check-in was not initially ideal. We were not given the level of room we booked online. Yes, I booked through a travel site and not them directly, and I think they just stuck us in the least ideal room they had and hoped we'd live with it. Well, we travel a lot, and that's not how I role. So I immediately called the front desk, and explained the situation. I won't name names, but HE very rudely told me he was busy with other guests and he'd call me back. He didn't. So I went back up to the front desk. Same guy was obviously annoyed that I was back, let me stand in front of him without looking up, acknowledging me, growling that he'd be with me in a few minutes...nothing. For 10 minutes. Finally a sweet and very helpful young girl (Eva) DID come over and give me our options. To make a long story short, she went above and beyond to get us into two beautiful rooms.....and upgrades to boot. Thank you SO MUCH Eva!!!!!! Great job at keeping your cool, going above and beyond, and putting a huge smile on your guests face. I will return because of you. So after a rocky start, our stay was fabulous! There are only a few hotels in Key West that have private beaches, Pier House is one. It's small, but easily holds the people that want to lounge on the beach. The pool guys were great also. Bar drinks are pricey, but you don't come to Key West to save money. Go for the piña colada with a rum floater. Starts your morning off (or day!) right. They had a great live singer from noon to 3. My suggestion: go to the onsite Chart Room bar instead. Great ole town feel with Emily, who bartends with skill and personality. We had a great time knocking a few back with her and met new friends. And comp popcorn and peanuts!!!!!!!! Can't ask for better. The whole property is beautiful, not crazy huge, surrounded by a lot of Palm trees and garden views. Has a real Key West feel, as opposed to a larger resort with no personality. And girls, the bathrooms are large and beautifully done with granite and H2O shampoo etc...... If you want to be in the middle of the craziness that is Key West, yet amazingly quiet at night, the Pier House is absolutely perfect. We will definitely return to kick off our yearly trip to the Keys.

Perfect Key West location

Would recommend Mon, Apr 6, 2015
Pier house was the perfect Key West location for us. Everything was at our doorstep. Mallory square for the sunset celebrations and all of Duvall street for the restaurants and bars were literally just steps away. The hotel was great including their private beach and nice pool with music and food and drink service. We were able to check in 3 hours early when we arrived and the concierge arranged our water activities. We will stay here next time we visit.
