A 4 star that isn't
First of all, I need to say that the hotel itself is beautiful. It's immaculate and well decorated. They do however completely fail to mention that the road in front of the hotel is under such extensive construction that, in order to get from the hotel to old town, where everything is, you have to go ALL THE WAY around the island on your way back. It's also way too far to walk to anything. The bartender in the morning, Shelley, is wonderful and extremely pleasant. And Kristen, who checked us in was wonderful. Incredibly helpful and friendly. However we ran into issues on our third day there and the rest of the staff behind the desk and the supervisor were EXCEPTIONALLY rude. I understand that I'm not my parents, but I am an adult. Do not talk down to me. We paid way too much money for this room to have the supervisor of the hotel talk to us as rudely as she did.

Great quick getaway
We had family in and they wanted to come to Key West during Goombay weekend. I didn't think we could find just a Saturday night available, much less affordable. This was a perfect place for value, availability, friendliness and beauty. Loved it. We had a great stay. Beds were really comfy.

Average At Best!
The photos that are posted of this property are very deceitful. You should know that this location is literally steps next door to a strip mall housing Walgreens and Home Depot.. they are literally your neighbor. We believed that being "off the strip" would provide us with privacy however it was simply inconvenient. In addition the photos would also lead you to believe that you are on a beach front next to swimmable water and this is not the case. The "beach front" is more accurately a sandbox. If you like rules then this is the place for you! You will be happy to know that there is basically a rule for everything.. entry, departure, designated smoking area's (Walgreens parking lot) what types of things you can bring to the pool and the list goes on and on. You should also be aware that the "cafe" on the property closes at 5:30pm. If you plan on eating or drinking anything at the pool it must be purchased at this cafe during business hours. I felt more like I was at a governed camp than on holiday. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, nothing over the top but true "Keys" style with a great porch on the front and the back of the unit. Regarding the staff: there suggestions were on point sending us to a great restaurant in town and other accurate suggestions. They were not very eager to help in any other way, I wouldn't say that they were "bad" I would say not engaging and didn't really care to go above and beyond what so ever. Overall.. disappointing both Key West and this property, wont be coming back anytime soon.

Vacation 2012
We enjoyed our stay at Parrot Key Resort. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Liked the back porch, ours overlooked the pool area. This resort is not located in the tourist area, but it was easy to get to that side of town by car. Parking was limited. Very quaint, tropical garden village. The bed was very comfortable.

AMAZING PLACE
Had a great time in Key West at the Parrot Key. The staff were great and very helpful whether it was getting a cab or looking for a good snorkel guide. Sean the Manager is a great guy as well. Quiet resort that makes you feel like you're miles from the busy highway when you're actually not more then 100 yards away. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Checkout Duval Street. Make sure and take the city bus tour. Even thought the island is very small, the tour gives you insite to how the city grew.
