Nice Hotel

Not staying on the beach is my only regret. The hotel is very close to DuVal where everything is located. I liked the view from the hotels on the ocean.

Terrible Room-Wonderful Staff

Bad News The room it self was very small, when my husband and I entered the room we looked at each other & just laughed. This was the room we were to spend our wedding anniversary in. There was a curtin covering the glass door I put a pillow against the curtin so no one would be able to seen in our room. The shower head was placed almost in the ceiling you could not reach it to direct the spray the was trickling out, both shower doors & towel bar fell off. Good News The daytime staff was awesome, she called for bike rentals for us, recommended two great resturants for breakfast(Blue Heaven) & dinner (Commendor).

vintage hotel up dated

We arrived late and found no parking at the hotel. We are senior citizens and found this to be upsetting. We had to put our luggage on the street while double parked. My husband had to drive around the area and couldn't find a place to park. What we were told later, the neighborhood had reserved parking in painted boxes on the street and the boxes without reserved painted on the street were okay. It was dark and I had to keep getting out of the car to find a box without a reserved word. We finally found a spot about a block away without the reserved word. It didn't look safe. A spot should be reserved for senior citizens. This was scary. The next day a space was available in front of the hotel and we moved our car. We didn't dare use the car for fear we would loose this spot. It is in a historic area where parking is a problem. The room was small but we loved it anyway because we are campers. The only concern was the mattress. It was not firm and consequently we rolled around. I laughed and told my husband we must be on a cruise and didn't know it. The hotel had rooms in cottages and others on two levels. There were two levels of steps in many areas which you had to be careful to not trip. The hotel was in the heart of Key West. You could walk to all areas within eight blocks unless you have shoes that are too small for your feet and hurt. It is a charming place to stay and had muffins bagels, English muffins, etc for breakfast. It is across the street from Hemmingway's house. It spite of the problems I would recommend it. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the pool. Location is great. I also felt it was reasonable. Go and enjoy the area.

Near Duval Street

Lighthouse Court Hotel, KEY WEST, FL This is in a very OLD neighborhood located directly across the street from Hemmingways House. It was a room with a small Frige. The bathroom has louvered closet doors (you have to pay extra for the bathroom in your room). If you lay in bed and watch TV the ceiling fan is in the way. It was clean and close to what we wanted to see and do. I would go there again but can't see going to Key West again. It was not for me.
