Coconut Mallory

This place feels like a home away from home. The staff was very nice and the accommodations were great: kitchen, two bathrooms, very close to Smathers' Beach. You would def. have to cab it if you were looking to party on Duval St, but that wasn't why I was there (been there, done that). This would be great for small families with kids, an older couple, or a single who just wanted to get away from it all (like me)... very refreshing.

Coconut Mallory was great!

I stayed at the Coconut Mallory after finding it was the least expensive hotel available for the date I needed to go to Key West. I was attending a wedding as a guest with no date, driving from Miami. All I cared about was a four walls, a bed, and that it was on the island. I got to Key West late thanks to heavy traffic, and had only half an hour to get to the wedding when I checked in. The people at the desk were very nice and let me jump ahead in line and helped me check in in just two minutes so I even made my wedding on time! The room was a single, had a little kitchen and a nice bathroom. It looks like a great place to stay for a week if you rent a scooter or bike so you can get downtown because it is a bit off the main drag. They don't have daily maidservice though, you have to pay extra for housekeeping, and when you check out you strip the beds yourself and empty the trash and wash the dishes yourself. Still a great deal I thought, and very quaint.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

The Five 6's Taxi service was very helpful for getting around. DO NOT under any circumstances drive if you have had a drink or two because DUI's are handed out like candy and will cost you thousands in legal fees and costs and humiliation. TAKE A CAB.
