Ideal spot for a short stay in Key West
I arrived after hours due to weather, but the staff had my room key in the lock box and assured me that we could take care of the paperwork in the morning. That was a huge load off of my mind. My room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very nice and the recessed lighting and window treatment kept things bright. The shower was great and having a flat screen TV added a little modern touch to the old time feel of the room. The staff was probably the frienliest that I have ever experienced in al my travels.

Short walk from hotel
I was able to walk to everything I needed in a matter of minutes. The fine restaurants were within a 15 minute walk, as was Duval Street with its shopping, nightlife and restaurants.

Not a place for business travelers
I was there on business; just two nights. This hotel was booked based on the information provided as to location and parking. I discovered there was NO PARKING, except for street parking and that was difficult to find. I had to drive around the block a few times and finally found a parking spot about a block away. Also the original room I was assigned was in an unsafe area for a female traveler-- the room door opened on to a street; no security was evident. Fortunately another room was available in the courtyard area around the pool. The pool area was small; not enough seating if the place had been full. The location was over a mile from Duval Sreet; too far to walk if it rained or if the temperature was hot (which usually it is). Except for one very expensive restaurant about two blocks away, there were no restaurants nearby. I would not recommend this place.

Frequent Keys Visitor
Good value in Old Town.
Room was clean and pleasant and had a refrigerator and microwave for those that want to save on meals. A continental breakfast is included - decent, nothing out of the ordinary. The best thing about the hotel is its location in Old Town. You don't really need a car. There are a number of great restaraunts within a couple of blocks walking distance (Mangia!Mangia!, Sole, Michaels, The Marquesa). You can't beat the price for a good room with a.c. in Old Town.

Great Overnight Destination
The Budget Key West was wonderful. The check in process was quick and to the point. Suggestions of surrounding restaurants were graciously offered and received. The room was very warm and welcome. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the large shower. This location was just 10 blocks to Duval Street, w/ a very beautiful and relaxing view along the way.
