Great value

Lovely hotel with no unexpected per diem "Resort Fees', unlike so many accomodations in the Keys. It has its own small beach and a very nice heated pool. The location is good, but you really need a car to take best advantage of the Keys experience. I would have given it a '5' for Room Cleanliness, but the hotel prominently advertised (big poster in the elevator) that the linens and comforters on the beds were changed daily, yet this was not done in our room. That absolutely wouldn't keep me from staying here again, but they really should follow through with advertised services.

enjoyable

Had everything we wanted, on the water, pool, nice workout room and nice continental breakfast. We got to enjoy a visit and feed a manetie that came and visited every day.

beautiful setting

We selected hampton inn as a place to stay while we dived. We were pleasantly surprised that the most fun we had was at the hotel. The beach was beautiful. Manatees came around every day (we saw 9 at once at one point). Nice snorkeling right off the beach. Manatees came and played with us while we were in the water. The tiki bar was a nice place to watch the sunset and meet really nice people (and a parrot). Our room was very clean and spacious. The only negative was that there is nothing in walking distance to the hotel. But it was a short drive to dive boats and pennekamp park.

Nice Place

Clean, comfortable and very affordable. Decent complimentary breakfast and fresh baked cookies in the evening. Staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. On the bay, with a little sandy area for sunbathing and hanging out. We would stay here again.

Amazing vaction

My family and I were looking for a place to snorkle and dive. We not only found our motel to in a great location, but we we're able to snorkle off the motels beach. In fact, my son and husband swam with wild manatee that visisted that beach everyday. The room was very nice, big and clean. We were spoiled by their breakfast they served and the friendly staff. We all hated to leave and hope to return soon. We would recomend this to anybody.

Mixed feelings

The room itself was fine. Average to slightly above average accomodations. Pool area was small but nice and the beach area was great. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again but for one problem. The smell in the rooms. Apparently they have a bad moisture problem and the moisture has gotten into the carpeting which needs to be replaced before I would stay again. I had to constantly spray the room with an air freshener to make it habitable.

There is an excellent little Italian restaurant that was really authentic. DiGrigorio's was a pleasant surprise in a town noted for seafood. Great food, atmosphere and drinks all reasonable priced.

Incredible time, awesome staff

We had an amazing time in Key Largo, much of it thanks to staying at this hotel. The hotel itself is fairly well located for just about anything you want to do(though a bit hard to see as you're driving down the highway due to trees blocking the sign). We spent every evening hanging out at the Tiki bar with [...] (the bartenders) and watching the most amazing sunsets. They were so friendly and the locals (like [...]) that stopped by made you feel right at home. I've been to a lot of hotel bars and none have had this very cool and friendly vibe. If you stay at this hotel and you don't visit the bar you're really missing out. During the days we went sight seeing all over the place. One thing I wouldn't recommend if you have any sort of motion sickness issues is the glass bottom boat rides. I took the max dosage of the motion sickness meds and still got sick (and that on a relatively calm sea). We snorkeled and went out on the water alot during the rest of the vacation and I had no issues. Of things you must check out, [...] is here stands out. It's a fruit stand few miles north in Homestead on the way to the Everglades. Go there and have a mango...it'll be the best fruit you've ever eaten.Overall the only negative part of the hotel stay was the shower in our room. The design was poorly thought out and we often ended up having water come out of the shower...after the first night we just started asking for extra towels and just covering the bathroom floor with them so water wouldn't flow out into the entryway.
