Better than others more expensive

Hotel was booked solid the night I stayed, but it was so quiet you would not have known it. Very clean lobby. King bed room was spacious and really clean. I have stayed in much pricier hotels that bordered on filthy. This room was spotless - even the fridge and microwave! Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast not offered (though coffee was), but multiple restaurants within five minute walking distance. Vending machines located right off of lobby. Hotel was very easy to get to and was right next to I-95 exit so going to other places was easy. Security guard on duty at night, which I thought was good. The area in which this hotel is located is not a bad one at all. Several hotels located in this same area and multiple restaurants. This hotel is located in great spot. One mile from Wal-Mart, five miles from The Avenues Mall, three miles from Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, three miles from downtown Jacksonville, ten miles from St. Johns Mall, one mile from CVS, etc. Considering traffic, you are within about five to fifteen minutes of many locations. Multiple discounts offered, including military, AAA, etc. Even without discounts rooms still are a great price. I wasn't even bothered about no breakfast provided like many other hotels. The cleanliness of this hotel more than made up for a chintzy bagel and coffee along with a poorly cleaned room. Luggage carts are also available if you have a lot of stuff to move - another nice touch as many hotels don't offer. Heat/cool unit worked great. Not many channels on TV to choose from other than local, the news stations and HBO. Pay per view movies were offered. Local calls are free. In room safe as well. There was a large desk area with computer chair which I really liked. Wi-fi available as well, so with the desk setup and the Internet connection I was happy. Toiletries provided were the bare minimum of soap, ice bucket, towels, small travel sized packet of tissues and some cups. People forgetting anything would have to find closest store. Decor was good. Hotel recently renovated, and it is noticeable. Not done in 70's or 80's decor anymore. Elevators to upper floors right off of lobby and not buried at the other end of the hotel like some others. Room keys are the type which can be clipped on a key chain which I find less likely to lose than the credit card type. Bed was very comfortable. Three pillows on king bed. Linens very soft, not worn, and smelled fresh and not musty or like bleach. Easy to tell that blanket and bed cover quilt were new. This was a really nice place to stay, and when I have to go back to this area again, I plan to stay at this hotel. Excellent value for the money. They are even pet friendly.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Cracker Barrel, Applebee's and Waffle House are within five minute max walk. To-go orders for Cracker Barrel take about five minutes, about ten for Applebee's and five to ten for Waffle House depending on how busy. List of restaurants that delivered was in room on top of TV, which I thought was nice of the hotel to provide. In room microwaves are able to hold the to-go boxes for easy reheating.
