Best Western Hotel JTB/Southpoint

I selected a smoking room and no smoking room was available. I wanted a hot bath but the plug in the tub did not close and there were no other rooms available to move me. Parking was just about impossible. There was a Landstar (Trucker) conference and the parking lot was filled with Semi cabs each taking up 4-5 spaces parked sideways. The wi-fi connectivity took several steps and was not explained to me at check in. I had to make a couple of calls to get connected. I could not buy anything thru my ITunes app. I could go to the ITunes site but the app still showed no internet connection. Call the hotel before you book anything to see if they can accomodate your needs... and there is no conferences being held at the time of your stay. I will select different accomdations the next time I visit the city. I did not feel warm or fuzzy and did not enjoy having to go outside to smoke next to the trash can.

This hotel was in a great location and priced very well. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

For those doing business in downtown Jax - and without car, or ability to get rent-a-car (either due to limited day of stay or no international or Florida driver license or a US state license) better to have your meet near the airport. Otherwise, getting around will be expensive by taxi. From the airport to the hotel is $30 by shuttle or close to $80 by taxi. Otherwise, the hiotel by itself provides a wonderful experience. But you will not spend your time in a hotel so moving around should be a ocnsideration.,

Room was clean and ready on time. The surrounding area was very nice and within a forest. Hotel was quiet and close to everything in town.

It was good for the value. Breakfast could have been a little better.

I was traveling on business for a couple of days and I needed to stay at a hotel in the Southpoint Business District. I found this hotel to be conveniently located and I would recommend it to other business travelers with similar needs.

It was clean and in a good location. internet was kind of slow but got the job done

When I checked in, the young lady I delt with stated, that the reservation was made from July 29 'til August 3-rd instead of June 29 'til July 3-rd. I had to be firm and emphasize that I received to valid e-mail confirmations about the June-July reservation, so the mistake must be done by the hotel. The problem was corrected - I think - and she gave me an upgrade. Instead of the originally requested queen size bed I got a king size bed. I used the pool while staying there, and something sharp cut my left pinky finger. Must be some extra piece of grout at the end of the pool. When we went back to find what caused the injury, we couldn't find it.I asked for bandaid and antibiotic ointment. Thus the problem was solved.

Had a railroad safety class at the hotel. The room was a bit small, but it was clean and the front desk staff were polite & helpful.
