Vacation stay

We had room #22, which was by the highway. The traffic noise in this room could be a little much. Other rooms by the water should be much quieter.

Bob's Bunz's was a great place for breakfast and reasonably priced. However, the buns were just average.

Nice place in the Keys

Overall, it was a very good stay. The suite felt a little small, but we managed -- after all, we did not go there to stay in the room much. The kitchen ware felt somewhat cheap, especially the mugs and the plates. The large plates would not fit in the microwave oven. Please change them. The landscaping was great and well maintained. From the porch, we could see the grass, the flowers, the palm trees, and the ocean! I wish that they also had a normal beach, on the other hand this is the Keys and beaches are hard to find there.

Nice, off the beaten track getaway

Staff were super friendly. Quieter than larger resorts in the area. Has the "old Florida" feel. Beach was disappointing as water access limited but this is the Keys so that's too be expected. Great restaurants nearby on oceanside to watch the magnificent sunsets. Will return again.

Perfect place for an ideal holiday

We spent more than a week in Pines and Palms and we were very satisfied with the hotel employees and with the hoel room. It had a great location next to the beach and it was really quite and peaceful. The small house had an optimal size and shape. The only negative was only the 'old bed' which must be changed soon. Generally I would recommend to anybody who is looking for a great place to have a rest.

Relaxing New Year Holiday

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days over New Year's 2010. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It is a great location for day trips south to Key West or north to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is right on the ocean and the two piers were great for fishing or sipping wine in the evening. The beach was very clean and had comfortable lounge chairs for sunning. It was too cool for us to go in the pool, but some children were enjoying the pool. It was clean and a nice size. We bar-b-qued several times. The hotel cleans out the pit each time you use it so it's ready to go the next time. I can't think of anything that we didn't like about our stay.

Simple and comfortable

We were not impressed by the hotel. The room was clean, but not very inviting. The staff was fine. We only dealt with them at check-in and check-out. We were supposed to have an ocean view room, and even paid extra for it, but we could barely see the ocean at all. It was not at all what we expected. We were glad we didn't plan to spend time at the hotel. We enjoyed the area so much, but the hotel was less than desirable.

We loved the restaurant Lazy Days. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. Snorkeling out of Robbie's was great too!
