The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood Florida calls the pristine shores of Hollywood home, a magnet for families, golfers and spa lovers. The convention hotel
The hotel is connected to a convention center and was at 100% occupancy while we were there although there was never a problem getting an elevator or finding a pool chair. Great facility on the beach. Friendly service other than the poolside servers. Geared to the business traveler (probably why the pool chairs were available - most guests were at conventions). Pool deck very small and lounge chairs are squeezed together -- too close with no room to move. To go anywhere requires a taxi or trolley ride which can be expensive. Gulfstream race track/casino/restaurants and shops nearby shouldn't be missed. The Los Olas area in Ft. Lauderdale also worthwhile.

Short drive from hotel
Gulfstream race track, casino and shopping are close, clean and worth the time. Strongly recommend the Chinese restaurant Christine Lee's.

Great time
Had a great time, was upgraded to a partial ocean view at check in which was amazing. Not much to do at night being that most of the guests are here for business parties ect. We were one of very few young couples so there was not much for us to do besides lounge and eat. Hotel, pool, beach and everything else is beautiful...will definitely return. Had a walmart a mile away and did some shopping but no in room dinette or microwave to prepare anything.

don't stay at golf location!!
We were a little surprized at the distance of the golf location from the beach - it was very inconvenient getting to and from the beach.. Also - services at the golf were very lacking - you had to take valet parking and it could take 20 minutes to get your car. The concierge service was only available at the beach location. They didn't have enough staff at the golf location. I went to the pool at the golf location one afternoon and there were so few chairs that I couldn't get one. I would not stay at the Golf location again.

Gorgeous Getaway to Florida
Wonderful, spa like rooms overlooking the beautiful pool and ocean. Very tranquil but step outside the front of the hotel is a thriving downtown area with lots of happenings.

Excellent getaway location
We enjoyed very much the swimming pool and the walks on the beach. Also we enjoyed walking,shopping and the restaurants on the broadwalk. A trolley,running every half-hour, would take us there. The Hotel was outstanding and the staff went out of their way to help and accommodate us. The Hotel restaurants are very good and the only complaint is that they din't have a vegeterian menu.

break from the cold
just for hanging out at the pool and beach. weather co-operated very well. great location to all restaurants and south beach. service was very good. compared to my european trips this was far more superior.
