With its glowing pool decks that spill with waterfalls, and suites facing the Atlantic, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa is effortlessly cool. This Florida beachfront resort offers two outdoor pools, full-service spa, water recreation, beach volleyball and six on-site restaurants. The hotel also provides guests access to a golf course, a tennis center, and a fitness studio, as well as jogging gear rental and maps for anyone looking to go for a jog on the beach. The Westin Kids Club takes care of the little ones with regular Friday parties, so parents can chill out in the posh, high-ceiling steakhouse, Hollywood Prime. Everyone can indulge in a little poolside ice cream, or a slushy at the Splash Bar during the day, but 'solo missions' to the Heavenly Spa are always available - its wide glass windows and wave motif decor facilitating seaside manicures.

Accommodations at this resort are fitted with cable flat-screen TV, refrigerator, and work desk with ergonomic chair, while select rooms feature a private balcony. The resort's signature restaurant, Hollywood Prime, is known for its dry-aged beef and the season's freshest seafood. Casual dining options include small plates, sushi and cocktails at BarSu, beachfront eatery Splash Bar & Grille, The Cafe featuring a breakfast buffet and delectable menu for lunch, or RIVALS Waterfront Sports Grille offers Contemporary American bar fare, including Kobe beef mini-hamburgers, with indoor and dockside seating.

the W

Everything was incredible except for the prices of the cabana and chair rentals on the beach. Also the required bracelets to access the hotel because we had guests they could not join us out by the pool area. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel when its not a busy weekend like Memorial Day.

Fantastic Family Getaway...

The hotel was pretty, impeccably clean and new...or newly renovated. The service and location on the ocean were fabulous. Highly recommended spot for your family vacation in the sun!

Charged for Nickle & Dime Stuff

Reservations were made to have connecting rooms - and a call was made to confirm this 3 wks in advance - but they did not fulfill this. No apologies at check in or even asked to do anything special - they had to put us in a connecting handicapped room w/ no tub. The room was on the lower side of the building overlooking the kitchen vents - which included plenty of cigarette butts (this is a non-smoking property) and garbage. When you get to the beach - you pay for everything - lounge chair, chaise, umbrella. For a family of 4, that's an extra $65 a day that was unexpected. Drinks were high priced - $14 for a glass of wine. Food was expensive as well - a yogurt cup w/ granola set you back $5.00 and an omlete at breakfast was $17.00. The breakfast Buffett was $25.00 and the line was 15-20 deep. They ran out of bacon that my son waited 15 minutes in line for and the wait staff kept disappearing. We paid Ritz Carlton prices for a wannabe. Last piece - they advertise as a Spa - well the spa is 10 minutes away, overpriced and not clean. We cancelled our add'l appointments.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Eddie Hills - Thai Sushi on US1 just past the Texaco station - recommended by a hotel staff member as her favoite - we ended up there twice. Also, do not miss walking downtown Hollywood - they are redoing it and it's nice.

First Rate with Noise

Really a first rate hotel with fabulous ocean views from high altitude. No complaints, though adjacent guests were quite inconsiderate by talking in loud voices until 230 in the morning. Westin security had to be called and handled the matter with aplomb and professionalism, for which I thank them.

Every Bit As Wonderful As It Appears

BRAVO! Just a quick 15 minute, inexpensive cab ride from FLL and you're in paradise. The staff was friendly, for the most part. There were some communication problems due to language barriers with a few staffers, nevertheless, we managed. Otherwise, EVERYTHING was perfect. Our room had a partial view of the ocean, the rest, of the city. We had a corner Grand Deluxe Room where the balcony wrapped around, with floor to ceiling windows and plenty of comfortable outdoor seating/lounge chairs. Very private, the neighbors couldn't spy, as their connecting windows were blocked out. We were speechless, the view was amazing during the day and super sexy and romantic at night. The "Heavenly Bed" was ridiculously comfortable. As for the bathroom, I expected jets in the soaking tub, but it wasn't a big deal. Could have used a deeper scrubbing. However, the "Heavenly Shower" was wonderful and clean. There was a freak cold snap when we were there, highs only in the 60's, 20's in the evening. We tried to crank up the heat, but believe it was regulated, so we were freezing. I think both of us are a bit under the weather as a result. That was a huge bummer, but didn't ruin our time. We made up for it by laying out in the sun by the pool were it was super warm in the morning/early afternoon. The pools are amazing! The infinity edged pool was gorgeous and heated. Ample seating for sunbathing and close proximity to the beach were the icing. Drinks are strong and tasty, especially the Cherry Blossom at BarSu. Room service is ridiculously expensive. Not necessarily the price of the meals, but the additional delivery fee and auto gratuity. While not a lot of nightlife, the whole reason why we came was to relax and have a good time together for a three day mini vaca. If you're looking for that as well, the Westin Diplomat is perfect. We've already decided to go back in March!

The lap of luxury

The hotel was beautiful and the room was spotless. The housekeeping staff was courteous and honest, money left on the night table was NEVER touched. Room service and valet parking was a little expensive, but given the surroundings, not completely unexpected. Overall, loved it, will definitely retun.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT

We were overwhelmed at the helpfulness of the entire staff from the front desk to the spa personnel to the resturant staff. There was not ONE employee who wasn't helpful and eager to please and assist us. The rooms were quiet. Bathrooms were beautiful. Getting our car in and out of valet was quick and effortless. Absolutely could not ask for better service in any area there and we tried most of the things the hotel had to offer.
