With its glowing pool decks that spill with waterfalls, and suites facing the Atlantic, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa is effortlessly cool. The hotel gives guests access to a golf course, a tennis center, and a fitness studio, as well as jogging gear rental and maps for anyone looking to go for a jog on the beach. The Westin Kids Club takes care of the little ones with regular Friday parties, so parents can chill out in the posh, high-ceilinged steakhouse, Hollywood Prime. Everyone can indulge in a little poolside ice cream, or a slushy at the Splash Bar during the day, but 'solo missions' to the Heavenly Spa are always available - its wide glass windows and wave motif decor facilitating seaside manicures.

Great stay! Loved my corner room on 27th floor!

Had a inter coastal partial ocean view King room on the 27th floor with a wrap-around balcony view was spectacular! Great pool and quick and easy access to the beach. As other reviewers have already stated the poolside restaurant "splash" drinks and food are pricey & quality is mediocre. Staff very friendly & accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Weekend trip June 2014

Stayed overnight due to having to be in the area the next morning for a wedding reception. Hotel is on the upper-end of the 4* spectrum, overall. It is right on the beach and has several nice pools and restaurants on-site. It looks and feels very high-end and comes close (I said close) to some of the 5*'s I've stayed at over the years in terms of appearance. The cons that I noticed are this: 1) self-parking ($20/night) is actually across the street in a separate garage, not exactly convenient, but not a huge deal. 2) We stayed in a larger, "deluxe" room and the bathroom contained a large tub, which I could care less about. The shower was tiny. Overall, I would have no problems staying here again if I was in the area.

Best on the strip

We chose to stay here because we ate at the Westin's buffet in 2009. We said we should stay there if we ever returned to Hallandale Beach. I rated the value low because another reputable travel company had the same flight and hotel package for half what we paid. We missed the cheaper package by an hour because I couldn't book it from work. I'd be so much happier with the value if we could have booked at the cheaper rate. The pool is very nice with ambient lighting. It's also a salt water pool and feels so much better than chlorine. After swimming, we didn't feel the stinging in our eyes or smell the chlorine smell typical of most other pools. Part of our stay was during Memorial Day weekend so it was VERY busy and crowded. Monday night, most people had checked out and it was quiet again. We left Wednesday so we got to enjoy the pool without lots of kids running around and screaming. The pool appeared to be open 24/7, too. We took advantage of some late night swims. It was great. This is a great resort if you like being away from the action (except for major travel holidays). It's beautiful. Unfortunately for us, we stayed when the seaweed decided to come in and cover most of the beach. That's not Westin's fault though.

Great week with the kids

Westin diplomat is a beautiful resort! $25.00/day for parking in addition to what you pay to stay there was a bit odd and pricey. Overall the place is clean and modern. Staff was sufficient and friendly. Kids loved it. Spa is expensive but very elegant and my wife enjoyed her massage(180.00/ 50 min). Food at the hotel is average and expensive. Tony's pizza across the street is a gem.

Excellent!

I absolutley loved this resort. It is really something special. The only thing I can fault them on is the valet. We called the front desk twice to call for our vehicle but it wasn't there when we were ready - the front desk hadn't even called for our car yet. They instruct you to text them but the signal in our room wasn't great so we couldn't. We relied on the front desk to get our request to valet but it didn't happen...twice. Overall though, an EXCELLENT stay! I would definitely go back!

Rivals bar/restaurant (just acorss the skywalk) was excellent! Only a 4-5 minute beautiful walk. Great food, friendly people, over 10 TVs with every televised sporting event on. Really impressed!
