Hollywood Beach Resort Cruise Port

A classic hotel with a great location on the beach but it does need improvement. A little better cleaning and maintenance would improve this old hotel that has seen better days. The cruise port is 7-9 miles away depending on the cab journey and watch for gouging since it cost $35.00 and a 'typical fare is $26.00 I would suggest they take Cruise Port out of the name.

The pool was WONDERFUL...outdoor, great view, HEATED. Jacuzzi was great too. Staff was good. Not overly friendly. The room we stayed in was a renovated room, so it was clean, smelled of smoke though. Overall the hotel was worth the money.

the hotel location was wonderful. I felt that the hotel was decent as far as cleanliness goes. I do feel that the people were somewhat rude.

All I wanted was a good deal on the beach and clean. That's what I got. I loved it because of those three things. If you want those three things too, you'll love it. It's not a great hotel, but its a hotel on the beach.

We needed a last minute place in a warm location, preferably on the beach, and the Hollywood Beach Resort fit the bill. The prices were very reasonable so our expectations were not too high, and we were not disappointed. First of all, what a great location! HBR is situated on the south end of the Hollywood boardwalk with a nice beach bar (O'Malley's) next to the nice beachfront pool, an absolutely gorgeous beach and ocean, and 15 minutes to the Ft Lauderdale airport. The room was very nice with a comfy king-size bed and view of the ocean, a fully-equipped kitchenette and nice TV. No porch, but being right on the beach, why stay n the room? The hotel had a great maintenance staff, and the front desk folks were generally helpful. However, the TV did not work (Comcast problem) at first, the tub drained slow, one of 3 elevators was broken for a day or two, but otherwise all was well. It looks as though the economy has taken a toll on the flow of retail rental income (many vacancies)and a result ongoing maintenance of exterior items was lagging. Understand that if the room price is reasonable with a nice breakfast included, a few $'s for some extras is acceptable.

Starting with their nice continental breakfast each morning overlooking the ocean was great! Walking on the boardwalk both morning & evening was good exercise & you were accompanied by many others enjoying their time. Parking was either public or valet for a set fee per 24 hours. We chose public & it worked out fine for us. I recommend going downtown to enjoy one of the restaurants.

We had great weather and the pool was fine. Our room was not. They claimed they had done $3 million dollars worth of renovations. When pressed the people who worked at the hotel noted that they replaced carpets and bought new beds. Since the tag was still on the bed, we looked. The mattress was purchased in 2009. Tile floor. The floor was damp mopped around anything you might leave on floor. One day our room was not cleaned at all. Shower went in and out from cold to hot and water pressure was weak. Not a 3 star or 4 star. 2 star or below. Oh, and to get access to a computer you had to go to an office where they were selling real estate in the Dominican and had to ask. Always felt like an imposition. If you need better accomodations look for hotels to the south.

For the most part we rested and relaxed in the beautiful climate. This Hotel has a nice pool on site, a pub with good food, and is within a short walk to many fine restaraunts and shops that line the beach walk-way. There is also a convenience store in the lobby in addition to four small take-out restaurants on the main floor. The rooms however, are showing signs of age and lack of upkeep.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at !! STAFF AND MANAGEMENT WERE VERY HELPFUL and accommodating !! THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT !! WE rented a car , but , didn't need it . ALL the boardwalk restaurants were with-in walking distance to this fine hotel. A couple of hundred feet from the hotel lobby was the beautiful ocean. i would and have recommended this hotel to family and friends !!!
