Unbeatable location for the price

This was our first official vacation and it was awesome ! ! We had been working hard for far too long and just wanted some sea, sand, and sun. And boy did we get it. The weather cleared just for us and the ocean was delicious. We didn't rent a car because of the proximity to the beach and we did everything within walking distance. The hotel had a 1920's feel to it, yet we knew we were in the 21 century. I love old buildings that are still standing and this one is delightful. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. I woke up the first morning really sore. I finally got used to it the 5th night.(out of 7)The whole trip was fantastic and everything we hoped and wished for.Thank you [...] ! ! !

Hollywood Beach Resort

Great location on the beach with the boardwalk out the back door. Old style resort that Al Capone stayed at and it reminded you of old Florida. Each room is different with a small kitchen. Wonderful small restaurants within walking distance with music everywhere. For the price on the beach it was wonderful. Lots of people walking around at all hours and exercising on the boardwalk. Good experience for a couple of days.

Great Location - clean room but no 'Wow'

Loved the location, right on the beach with restaurents in walking distance. Perfect if you are not interested in sitting in your room. The room itself was small with tiles, definitely needs to be updated but it was clean. nice staff and definitely recommend the hotel shuttle vs a taxi. i got hooked on a big taxi bill from the airport.

Great Place for the value

The Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort had a great location on the beach, pool and tiki bar. Boardwalk for a long walks, a little run down along that stretch, looks like they're trying to bring back some businesses along the boardwalk. Great Value for the money.

Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort 3.5-4/5

This is indeed a rather unique hotel. Respite the renovation, it is still somewhat dusty. Pluses include a largely friendly staff (with a few notable exceptions), being on the boardwalk, and value. Negatives include thin walls, very noisy guests/staff, musty odor, and an additional $10/night "amenities fee" which produced no real amenities beyond what hotels normally provide (e.g. a towel at the pool). Additionally, it cost $15.00 per day to self park, which is uncommon outside of major urban city centers and is uncommon in South Florida. The hotel is initially difficult to locate. Coming from the north, W. Sheridan Road is the correct I-95 exit (#21, if I recall correctly), but it is improperly identified in the online directions. It is also difficult to wind around and find the hotel after making the turn onto Arizona Avenue. Calling for directions from Arizona Avenue did not produce helpful advice; rather, I got an irritated concierge who said: "we are right here...the big brown building.....how can you miss it?!?" After turning right on Arizona Street, take an immediate right on Tyler Street (running parallel to A!A) and as you ver around the corner toward the ocean, the unmarked driveway for the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort is about 1/2 block towards the ocean on the right (big brown building). These complaints aside, these accomodations were very satisfactory, overall.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Skip Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant on A1A (400 N. Ocean Drive)---it is overprice, the quality is rather poor, and the service is quite bad. I checked online reviews which were mostly raves with a few searing complaints. Perhaps I hit a bad night?Better bets: The salad/sandwich shop in the indoor arcade between the lobby and the boardwalk or Taverna Opa (greek salads w/ chicken or shrimp/kabobs

Good for short stay

Rooms are small but for a short overnight stay was fine. One of the two rooms was not ready by the 4:00 check-in time. Walls are very thin so noise can be a problem. Location was great, right on the beach, and is with-in walking distance to shops and dining.
