Beach hotel with sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway and ocean
The Marriott Hollywood Beach captures the feeling of an island villa--complete with oceanfront pool and tiki bar. The 229-room property tempts with boardwalk access, colonial estate-like rooms with spacious balconies overlooking the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway and a Caribbean-influenced restaurant manned by a former Top Chef contestant. The spa, a 2,500-square-feet oasis for pampering, beckons after a day of sailing along the Atlantic.
Dining
Sure, the Marriott Hollywood Beach counts Bravo Top Chef contestant Ron Duprat as head toque at Latitudes on the Beach, but the real star of the restaurant is the zesty Caribbean cuisine. Foodies savor the lavish breakfast buffet seven days a week, plus signature dishes like macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi and the lobster crab cake sandwich.
To fully appreciate the South Florida lifestyle, order cocktails poolside at the Tiki Bar, then kick back for live entertainment.
Recreation
The Marriott Hollywood Beach positions guests in the center of the action on the tourist-friendly Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. The
promenade is ripe for people-watching or exploring local water activities, including sailboat rentals. When the day winds down, return to the beachfront pool or book an aromatherapy massage at the 2,500-square-foot spa.

AWESOME Hotel!
From the moment we checked in til the hour we left we enjoyed a beautiful hotel and superb service. Our room was amazing, very clean, huge comfortable bed and even tho we did not have true "ocean view" we could see beach and the intercoastal from our balcony (although our patio door could have opened easier - which is our only complaint). The best surprise was the cabana service on the public beach. The staff at the Mariott were the BEST. We would definitely visit this hotel again. Also very good food and great breakfast buffet.

On the beach it doesn't get any better.
The hotel was recently rennovated and decor was quite pleasant. The outdoor restaurant and bar was great! The room set up was very nice. However, the beveled glass door on the bathroom entrance was weird. I would change all those doors. The pool was OK but since it was directly on the beach made is very convenient. We had to pay for daily parking, the room rate was not cheap it should have included parking.

Location is great. No vending machines, sundry shop closes at 4:30pm. After that, there is nowhere to get a bottle of water. No full length mirror for dressing. Restroom doors are full length glass so there are no secrets for business travelers sharing a room....

Mediocre
Being right on the beach the location is excellent. Pool was smaller than website photos made it seem. Staff was nice and courteous. Hotel was sold out on arrival day so we were stuck in a handicap accessible room. Bed was like 3 feet off the ground and HARD. Pillows were nice though and plentiful. The furniture had seen better days. One piece was even missing a drawer pull. While the AC worked well it was loud. Nothing in shower stall area to stop water from flowing into the rest of the bathroom while showering so we ended up placing towels where a "lip" should be to form a barrier. Asked about swapping rooms to a room with a tub to more easily bathe our 2 yr old but was told only rooms with tubs are 2 double beds. When we arrived the bathroom door knobs were broken and had to be fixed. Breakfast buffet was good but pricey. Loud music downstairs Saturday night so not a plus if you want to get to sleep at a decent hour or are tired from travel. Also lots of slamming noise from other guests' balcony doors. A safety bar to block the sliding door from being opened would be a plus for people traveling with small children who don't understand about balconies. From reviews I read prior to booking, I expected more from this hotel. I guess I would however still recommend but I'd make others aware of the things that disappointed me. There were much "worse" looking hotels/motels in the area.

Not your typical Marriott.
The hotel was the best in this location; however, it was a dated hotel which Marriott has attempted to make modern. Excellent service from staff, and very clean. The pool and pool area was excellent with a great view of the ocean. Easy access to the pool. The parking was close, but the daily parking fee wasn't a pleasant addition to check-out.

All typical restaurant chains are located within 5 miles from the hotel and beach strip which are much more reasonable than the beach front restaurants.

simply enjoyable vacation
STayed at the Hotel where a baby shower was held for our Granddaughter. Had a great room with balcony with ocean view. The accomodations for the baby shower were wonderful . The decorations were beautiful and the Hotel managerment just made everything great. No complaints from us, the 2 greatgrandma's of that new baby due in August.

Nice place with great beach location
It took the cleaning staff quite awhile to get to our room (almost 5pm) to make the beds and bring fresh towels, but they were very nice. The beach was great. The water color was incredible an clear. You could go 100 yards out with a 3 yr old it was that shallow. Bar/restaurant had live music during the day and evening. Rooms were nice, but balcony was small. Suites were same size as regular rooms so an upgrade doesn't really buy you much. Also, self-parking is $15/day and valet is $17/day.

Rock hard beds.
The location is wonderful, the staff are very friendly and the hotel is very nicely decorated but we could not get one decent night's sleep. We have traveled all over the world and have never had a problem with beds but these were terrible. The mattresses were so hard they actually hurt. These particular beds were probably lovely and firm at one time but now they've just plain worn out. Every time someone rolled over it sounded like an anchor being hoisted or a rusty gate. We complained many times, bought air mattresses, asked for additional comforters and blankets but nothing. It is a shame as this hotel has so much going for it but when I'm away I don't want to dread going to bed. Everything else is fantastic but without sleep what's the point?
