FILTHY PLACE. NASTY CARPETS SHEETS and TOWELS

This place is beyond filth! Sheets are stained, Carpets stained smells Room had major mold. Staff friendly and good city water pressure. All else failed. No place to have your kids. The place attracts questionable activities.

What you pay for.

Pretty much get what you pay for. Don't expect something crazy fancy its just a motel. But the staff was very helpful and friendly and everyday had plenty of clean towels.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

My boyfriend and I decided to stay here a couple nights since it was cheap and close to UF as we were only going to be there for a weekend tournament. The room we were placed in had a funky smell and was badly outdated but I didn't mind too much. However, there were BED BUGS all over the bed. Didn't notice till I actually got in and found the little red things crawling all over. Called front desk and the guy sounded surprised but came to check it out. After he saw the bugs he moved us to a different room which was bigger and looked more comfortable but there were piles of clothes all over, like someone had been doing some laundry and ironing. Called front desk again and turns out the owners had been using that room for laundry earlier and never took their clothes. Got moved AGAIN and ended up in a cleaner more comfortable room but then had to listen to a couple arguing and slamming doors for much of the night. At this point we were too tired to do anything so we went to sleep (when the noise died down). After the experience in the first room I would have demanded my money back but theres a big sign at the front saying NO REFUNDS. Just don't bother with this place. I'm sure there are nicer places to stay for around the same price.

You get what you pay for generally

This hotel did the job. It's cheap, it's old, it's about 2 1/2 miles from UF. Did I mention that it's cheap? So anyway, if you need a very basic room at the lowest possible rate - look here. It does have a pool and a small "playground" and the refrigerator/microwave in the room was a nice touch. Still, we were pretty sure the blankets/comforter were NOT washed in between stays - we pulled those off the bed. The room was a nice size and even had a balcony and vaulted ceiling (2nd floor). The soap holder in the shower was broken and had sharp edges, and the sink was not exactly dirty - but VERY dated and rust-stained (there was a second sink outside the bathroom). There was an industrial-strength toilet in the room that flushed very loudly. The staff was friendly. It was completely quiet both nights we stayed. If all you plan to do is sleep in the room a few hours and don't want to pay for amenities that you might find at more upscale places, this place might suit you. Next door to Checkers and McDonalds and across the street from a Walmart - as mentioned, a short drive to UF.

hotel nightmare

Horrible, I travel for work on a weekly basis and this is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. It was way over priced and the mantence issues were many. The place smelled and to top it off the tried to put me in a smoking room.

Knight's Inn Gainesville

My 3 friends and I went to Gainesville to see a concert, so we were there only one night, and were looking for a cheap place to stay. While the Knight's Inn was no Gaylord, the service was the friendliest I've ever had, and it's location just miles from University Road made it a perfect place to stay. For less than $60, I had a good time. Don't go expecting pristine rooms or a beautiful atmosphere, but if you're just looking for a comfy, cheap place to stay, I couldn't recommend this more.

The Mar's Pub, on University, is great. You can play 2 games of laser tag for only $10, the drinks are cheap, and the service is friendly as can be.
