The Holiday Inn University Center is surrounded on all sides by the University of Florida, local shops & boutiques, restaurants, in "the Heart of Gainesville." This 6 story "almost on campus" city landmark offers a roof-top swimming pool surrounded by 14,000 sq. ft. of "sunning" space. The fitness room is located adjacent to the pool on the third floor. We also offer an Executive floor and a friendly and professional staff. Complimentary transportation is provided to the airport and local hospitals daily from 7am-11pm. Free High-speed Wireless Internet service, In-room movies, Nintendo, Web-TV and In-Room Check-out are available in all rooms. The Hotel has completed an extensive, beautiful lobby renovation complete with a business center. The restaurant is open 7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Football getaway

Good hotel, Great Price

I was there for a night and left very early in the morning. Had a great overall experience. There was a problem with running water in our first room and the staff was extremely kind and accommodated us. Beds were comfortable. Overall I enjoyed the hotel.

Great location, not so great hotel

W went to visit our son at the university. The bathtub was not as clean as it should have been!!

Decent place to stay

On business I just stayed one night. The decor was fairly atrocious but the place was clean and in good repair. The adjacent sports bar was an ok place to eat. Unfortunately they were out of coffee in the morning in the lobby but they brewed more and were back in business in a couple of minutes...fortunately I didn't mind waiting that day.

Very disappointed

This hotel was garbage. I was very disappointed.I thought that I booked the holiday inn suits and ended up in this junk,where the bathroom and room had an odor of urine.. I had to call the front desk to let them know.Then they transfer us to another room which had the same odor. No continental breakfast as was promise on the internet. Being so exausted and disappointed already, I decided not to complain and accepted it. This hotel did not worth the amount I paid and demand that I get a refund. Very unacceptable. I will not recomend to anyone.

Conference 2010 in Gainesville

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal - there is a restaurant right next door and an awesome Italian place across the street. A short distance away (about 6 blocks) is mid-town which houses more restaurant selections and pubs/bars. The only downside to the hotel is that because it is located adjacent to UF - younger students might also be staying at the hotel for athletic events - and they can get a little noisy. Otherwise it was a decent stay.
