Perfect Storm
Patient at Shands Hospital Gainesville
husband was patient at Shands Hospital and Holiday Inn Express was only 15 minutes max from the hospital the room needed new mattress' the ceiling in bad need of paint

Great hotel!
My room was spacious with a microwave and small refrigerator, desk, ceiling fan, both firm and soft pillows on the bed and lots of them, bed was a dream of softness yet firm, excellent breakfast offerings including breakfast meat, eggs, biscuits (!), cinnamon rolls, french toast, regular toast and bagels, several different fruit juices, cereal, yogurt - extra fine. The hotel was tastefully furnished, staff friendly and helpful, beautiful well maintained grounds, plenty of parking. I stayed there 2 nights while a friend recuperated from surgery at the hospital. The hotel was at the next exit, about 5 minutes away. I didn't eat at any nearby restaurants or do any shopping so I can't give helpful information about that except to say that I saw plenty of restaurants and a shopping center nearby. Checkout time was noon which I really appreciated..
