Duped!

I have always found this site to be a reliable source when researching hotels and flights, but this time they failed me. How this place earned three stars is beyond me. It’s an absolute dive. The pictures here and on the hotel’s website are not recent. I have a hard time imagining that this hotel ever looked that nice. The pool and an entire area of the property looked condemned. After checking in, my wife asked me if I had checked a travel site with the initials T A (review guidelines will not allow me to enter the name of another travel site) before booking. Unfortunately, I did not. There you will find the real story on this place. Lesson learned.

Needs a face lift

The staff were great let me check in early and leave late. I do think they are over priced. The location is great. The beds were very comfy but the room seems like it needs a good dusting. For breakfast every thing was stale except the danishes they were good. They should charge 50 not 70 maybe if they had flat screens.

One of the worst places I've stayed in

No wifi, or internet, rude staff, no pool, no restaurant, bedside lamp did not work, called desk wasn't replaced until the night before I left. someone tried to get into my room at 2:30 AM with a card key. The card was accurate since the handle turned, but The chain lock held and they didn't get in. the deadbolt on the door was not working. the deadbolt on the door to the adjoining room was also not working, but I forced it shut. Saw several roaches(live) running around. There were holes in the wall, the tub would not drain well. Not a nice place at all.

Rill Tide Trip

This is definitely not a 3 star HOTEL, more like a 1 star MOTEL. The rooms, furniture, beds, towels, ect. were very used. I tried not to look around too much, I was afraid of what I'd see. It was clean but was in need of updating. Would not stay again for free or even advise Gator fans to stay.

NOT a 3 star place

Pool is not open and will not be any time soon. Don't believe anyone that says otherwise. The room was cold, but the heater smelled terrible so we had to leave the door open. Room smelled like stale smoke even though we were told it was a non-smoking room. Bugs were in the room and in the beds. Bed s sagged in the middle terribly. It is not a 3 star place so the price is high for what you get.

Bad overall

When we got there they told us we weren't registered. Then they found our data, the confirmation of which I had and showed them. When we went to the room, the toilet almost overflowed and someone was sent to the room with a plunger which didn't improve it too much. The flushing action was still very sluggish. The following morning the same thing happened. We called again because the toilet was about to inundate the entire bathroom. Again someone with a plunger was sent and after a few minutes he left. The improvement was still minimal. The sink used for shaving was slow to fill up and very slow to empty. The water was quite hot and acceptable.

Dining tip: In Hotel

When the manager of the dining room asked if we were enjoying our stay we told him it was one of the worst experiences we have had and the most expensive stay we have ever had in all the years we have been staying in hotels. This was breakfast time and he told us he would not charge us for breakfast. The breakfast would have cost 25.00 so they made up for our dismal experience. However, we will never stay at a Hilton again.

About what I expected for the price...

We stayed here for an archery tournament nearby and were just looking for a place to sleep at a decent place. The hotel was about what I expected for the price I paid. Some of the other reviews scared me a little, but it was not as bad as expected. Pros: The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The people at the front desk were nice. There were plenty of pillows (There can never be too many pillows on a bed for me). Cons: I couldn't get the internet in my room to work and no one seemed to know how to fix it. The air conditioner didn't work as well as I'd hoped and was very loud (I'm glad I didn't go in the summer). The hotel could definitely use some good maintenance and a good remodeling.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

There are tons of restaurants within a very short distance of this hotel. We went to a pretty good place called New Century Buffet (right next to the mall) that had everything from fried chicken and apple pie to crab legs and sushi and it was only about $12 a person including drinks.
