Can't beat the location

We arrived for just one night. We were looking forward to the beach, pool and other hotel amenities BUT we had to check out by 11 am (no late checkout) so we had to turn in our black bracelets and get yellow ones right after breakfast. We were now on a cash basis. We could not enjoy the paddleboards or kayaks without a charge. Would definitely like to stay for more days but for a one day stay (4 pm - 11 am) felt gypped. Breakfast buffet was wonderful especially the waffles with fresh whipped cream (no syrup necessary), fresh fruit and made-to-order omelettes. Rooms were spacious with balconies and kitchenette but bathroom sink was cracked and dated. Loved the beach and pool! And the take home beach bag was nice!

The Pink Shell- a great value

The Pink Shell was a great value. The location is great. Very nice beach front, very quiet property and close to the park just north for walking. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The free breakfast was a great deal with a full breakfast buffet offered daily.

good location; cheap hotel

It IS on the beach, and has pools for kids. Having said that, not much else going for it. Parking was a nightmare. No planning for it when hotel was built. We were placed in a building down the street; turns out there's 3 buildings associated with the 'pink shell' (white sands, captiva, and sanibel villas); so, had a walk just to get back to main building. OK, I guess if you're young, but I have PAD, and walking's difficult. I had no idea there was more than one location. Room was WAY below standard. Don't know when the hotel was built, but our room had a front door that was not square with the frame; you could put your finger through a space in the upper left hand corner of the door. Consequently, we heard EVERY noise from the parking lot... didn't get much sleep. The doors leading to the lanai were not square either.... couldn't lock security latch. Bathroom rug had corners sticking up; cheap; had to pick it up after tripping on it. A $30/night value room on a $200/night value location.

Good place for couples and families

I took my wife here for a short get away. The location is awesome. It is right next to a nature park. You can walk to restaurants and shops. Actually I would recommend this over driving. Parking is difficult near the restaurants and shops. The property is very nice. The breakfast was awesome with fresh fruit, waffles, and omelet stations. Other food served on the property was good also. Loved that paddleboards, kayaks, beach chairs and towels were all included. Beautiful beach resort. I would highly recommend the Pink Shell

Great get away

Every hotel staff member was extremely personable and wanted to ensure that our stay was the best it could be from the parking attendant to the housekeepers! The room was comfortable and clean. The resort has the most beautiful part of FT. Myers beach as they meticulously maintain it. The food at the resort was great as was the drinks. I would definitely recommend The Pink Shell Resort and I will return as well.

Ft myers beach

The Pink shell is the premier hotel on Estero island. The rooms that have the balcony off of the bedroom have spectacular views. You definately pay for the experience, but worth it. Great place for kids / families.

What a great find!

We booked our trip off the reviews off a vacation review site. We were not disappointed! This was a great resort with an awesome beach! Wonderful "free" breakfast each morning coupons were given to us at check in (for our entire 6 night stay [plus a nice discount at Bongos, the poolside bar/restaurant]). We did not need to eat lunch and then tended to eat earlier dinners and were good for the day. The resort is within walking distance of Times Square shopping area and the fishing pier. Easy to get on and off the Island (though traffic was at times slow and congested). We'd come here again without a second thought! By the way, the shelling was great right on the resorts Gulf beach front and you can walk forever to the end of the Island and back the other way!

If you would like to see Manatees, go to the "Power Plant" Manatee Park (within 20 miles of the resort) for a great walk down into up close looks (and great intel information from a Ranger). This was a tip given to us from a local in Cape Coral, and it costs only a few bucks for parking. The watching is free!
