Overview

Surrounded by cerulean water and sugar-white sand, the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina embodies a tropical resort on Florida's Gulf Coast. Built in 1953, this 12-acre property offers upscale accommodations in units such as Captiva, White Sand and Sanibel villas. Granite countertops in full kitchens and marble tiles in bathrooms are some of the standard features in the spacious guest suites. At the heart of this resort is an "Octopool" that includes an irregularly shaped basin, man-made stone arches and figurines of giant octopuses.

Highlights

Key facts

Start your morning with a made-to-order omelet at Jack's, an elegant restaurant with Tuscan columns and European decor.

Sip cool tropical cocktails and eat fresh sandwiches in the rainforest-themed Bongo's.

Lift weights and run on treadmills in the fitness center overlooking the marina.

Warm Stone Therapy and the Sea of Life Facial are some of the signature treatments in the on-site spa.

Hints and tips

The gift shop at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina in Fort Myers Beach is a convenient place to buy souvenirs such as starfish toys and wall magnets. This shop also makes it easy to stock your suite's refrigerator with drinks and snacks.

This hotel is also within walking distance to the Bowditch Point Park, which is an excellent vantage point for watching the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.

Great place to stay with children! Other then the Wifi being poor in our room, I couldn't complain and would recommend the Pink Shell to anyone!

Great Getaway

Would recommend Sat, Mar 14, 2015
This is a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location! We definitely enjoyed the balcony looking out at Fort Myers Beach. Only complaint was the quality of the beds - woke up each morning with a sore back. But then was able to walk the beach and get the kinks out. Staff was very friendly and the breakfasts at Jacks were very good. We would love to return some time soon!

Hotel was a great fit for our family - we visited Disney first and ended with four relaxing beach days. Breakfast was great everyday, grilled out at the park one night, enjoyed the sunset and took a family picture

Great Vacation with the family

Would recommend Tue, Oct 14, 2014
We are repeat guests of the Pink Shell and again had a great time! Our 3 year old loves the Octopool, the craft time, and don't forget the Sundae bar. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that had a few issues. The friendly maintenance staff resolved our plumbing issues, though 2 of our 3 phones didn't work and one of the bedrooms didn't have the flat screen tv, but had an old style tv that was fuzzy and hard to watch. Other than that we enjoyed every minute there. However, when making your reservations I would advise to ask if they have any weddings going on as you lose a lot of your pool deck space to private parties. Sometimes the shaded area is a nice break but it was blocked off for 3 days straight due to weddings.
