Ok, but not great
Overall, the room was clean. There was a loose tile as soon as you stepped in the room, and cracked tiles in the bathroom. The shower door would not completely shut. The king sized bed was a nice touch, but the mattress sagged a bit in the middle, and I had to use three pillows to get my head comfortable enough to get to sleep. The location was great, it was only a 4-5 minute walk to the beach. The Tiki Bar served a good omelette, and the bartender was attentive, but not overbearing. My only complaint was the TIki Bar at night. Although it appeared to be a good time for those who enjoy the night life, the music was very loud, and I could hear, and feel, the bass from the speakers well past midnight. If you are a night owl, who likes a good bar, it is a good, and affordable, place to stay. If you are an early riser, I would suggest looking at other hotels.

Couple Getaway
Good location, short walking distance to the beach and/or downtown bars, whatever your preference is. Some people say it gets noisy from Tiki bar, but our room was on the third floor, we could hardly hear bar noise, if any. Good value for your money!

Very uncomfortable stay
I flew in late on a Thursday night--the hotel lobby does not stay open past a certain time, instead, they put a sign with your name and room number on their lobby door and indicate that the room is unlocked, keys inside. As a single female traveling alone, this made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The rooms are not clearly marked so it was difficult to even find the "cottage" in which it was located. And the room itself was old and not very clean. I know the Ft. Myers area very well, and knew that the location was great--while the hotel looks nice on the outside, the room was definitely meant for college-aged spring breakers.

Didn't match the brochure
When you arrive, you think it looks like a great place to stay. It is located near the center of activity in Ft. Myers Beach and is a short walk to the beach and shops. However, despite the great paint job on the outside and picturesque pools, the rooms and experience are very poor. Our hotel room was outdated, had cracked floor tiles, walls that needed paint and a bathroom that looked like it was lost in the early 80s. The door to the room showed an angle of "sky." The phone in the room did not work. When I asked at the front desk, I was told they were getting new phones the next day. It was a lie. There was no free wifi in the room nor in common areas unless you stood a few feet from the office. The biggest complaint was the Tiki Bar entertainment. Their brochure says live music 8-11 nightly. However, only one night in seven did the music end before 11 and on most nights lasted until 11:40 or even after midnight. Which would be no problem if the rooms were soundproofed. Unfortunately, you are blasted by the music until it ends and no amount of air conditioning noise or television noise can drown it out. Parking can also be a problem. Even though you have a card to put on your mirror stating your room number and length of stay, anyone can park in the designated spots. When I returned one time from a short trip offsite, I was told to park across the street in public parking and pay the fee and the hotel would eventually reimburse. Hotel staff were less than friendly. They appeared comfortable with blowing off complaints. The housekeeping staff would threaten not to return if you were not ready for their service at 9 AM in the morning. Often the bed would not be made, tissues or toilet paper was not replaced, and towels might not be available. All in all, I would never stay there again. If all you care about is location and drinking, it is fine. Otherwise, find another place to stay.

Perfect for what we needed it for!
My husband and I were going on our first vacation without the kids prior to his deployment. The hotel was pretty inexpensive for the location so I was nervous at first. We checked in and the room was average, appliances were pretty old and the bathroom had some mold. We weren't in the room much though so it wasn't a big deal. Our room was right next to the tiki bar so it was pretty loud at night but we were usually down there so it wasn't a big deal. The tiki bar is by far the best bar that we came across. We weren't interested in the Spring Break scene but this bar was hopping. The staff was amazing and the people were very friendly. We ate breakfast there every morning and usually had a lunch or dinner there as well. We would stay again!

One step up from summer camp
Location is what Lighthouse Inn is all about. Short walks to the beach, stores and restaurants are just minuets. Some of the rooms are old and in need of repair. The two bedroom suites are very nice. The beds are new and comfortable. Not all have balconies. The Tiki Bar is fun at night and you can order typical greasy spoon food. But the beer is cold and the pools are heated and clean. Brian, the manager will work with you if you need changes. Our price was excellent for our package of flight and room. Rental car was a rip off.
