Great Family Hotel
I have stayed at tis resort twice in the last 8 weeks. Very kid friendly with a beautiful pool which is only a few feet from the beach. Activties for the kids and water sports right at the foot of the hotel right on the beach. Rooms are very nice and spacious. One of the top hotels at Fort Myers Beach.

Nice trip overall
Our room was clean but generally outdated and overall dark, even with all the lights on. The location was great, parasailing right outside the hotel on the beach property was convenient as was the waverunning. Very nice people running the rentals/parasailing/cabana. Air conditioner in the room worked great! (This was important as it was more than 95 degrees outside all days we were there.) Nice pool to relax in and enjoyed the floats/ice cream sundaes poolside.

Excellent!
We had an excellent stay at the Diamond Head! The staff was amazing and the room/view was perfect. The wife says the shower was the first she's ever seen in a resort that was actually large enough to hold all the shampoo, soap, etc. Absolutely couldn't ask for a better place to vacation and we will definitely return. If I coud give it more than 5 stars I would.

Happy to be in Florida
Great beachfront hotel
I couldnt be happier with my stay at this hotel. It started when we first arrived with the bellman service and never stopped. I felt like a celebrity the entire time I was there. We had a private deck that we spent the early evenings and mornings on reading. Very comfortable. Its also lightly screened so that we didnt get any mosquitos. Chairs and a small table as well as lounge chairs on our deck. Outstanding restaurant food and amazing service. The staff was realy welcoming and chatted with us quite a bit which I liked. The bartender was top notch. Try the nachos in the bar area. We ordered them out of the happy hour time and they were willing to accomodate us. Again it shows their committment to the customer. I appreciated the vast selection of TV channels in our room and the wireless internet. I used that alot (Unfortunately). Good bath amenities. Lots of towels and nice body lotion. The hotel location doesnt get better. We literally stepped out the back door and were on the beach. We were there during a tropical storm and the staff took it in stride and continued the great service. The pool was closed for our safety during the high winds. We walked along the beach though which was breathtaking. We saw some other hotels along our walk and I said aloud to my mom that we definately had the best hotel on that beach. The hotel was in walking distance to the shopping area. Lots of little kitchy shops, typical to areas like Key West, but fun to browse and get some souveniers. Lots of ice cream shops and such. I didnt find much for finer dining in our walk so it actually was better to eat in the hotel since the food was so good. Just amazing experience, I cannot wait to stay there again.

Try the happy hour nachos in the bar. Super fresh and flavorful. Also really nice service. For dinner in the formal dining room, I had a fantastic ribeye steak.

This is a true 3.5 star hotel, BUT I was very happy and satisfied with my stay!
The hotel is just off of 4 star accommodations, but I mean that for comparison purposes. Let me explain. I didn't find the accommodations plush, but they were much more than adequate. The room was clean and functional...had everything we needed. A microwave, a nice size fridge and real dishes and flatware won points with me. Great for reheating leftovers. I was lucky enough to get a full gulf facing room with a balcony that could be entered from the living room or the bedroom..big plus. I AM VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE HAD THAT. It was so nice to wake up to! The bathroom was a little tight, but nonetheless clean and modern. No massage showerhead. No problem with the bed. The bedroom was a tad small with the King bed in it, but having a living room with a sofa & chair made up for it. I actually enjoyed sitting in there in the morning. Comfortable enough with decent quality bedding. A 32" lcd tv in the bedroom and living room was also a nice touch. Housekeeping missed us 1 day. The pool was a little small for a hotel this size, but admittedly, it was never crowded. THE STAFF IS THE NICEST, MOST COURTEOUS GROUP!! We were greeted all day everyday, and it felt genuine. They were also very helpful when we wanted to venture out. Couples, go check out Lover's Key State park. I would definitely return. Preferably with a larger group. Never ate at the hotel so cant speak on that. For breakfast though, just walk 2 blocks down to 'Heavenly Biscuit'. For something quick, delicious, inexpensive and service with a smile...They cant be beat!

Heavenly Biscuit for breakfast sandwiches. The 'special' is bacon, egg, cheese and a slice of fresh tomato on a homemade biscuit. Scrumptious. Also fresh baked goods and coffee. Very casual. The proprietors are the nicest people!

Great pool/beach combination
Beach and pool are right at your doorstep. We enjoyed being on the beach for a half hour, then pool for half hour, back to beach etc. Staff was excellent - friendly and responsive. By the way, great pizza delivered to your room - delicious and inexpensive (hotel restaurant a little pricey for meals with the kids).

Try the two miniature golf courses just north of the bridge - Pirate and Jungle. My kids 8 & 9 loved them! Get to feed baby alligators and turtles at the pirate mini-golf one.

Great Room for Forth of July Fireworks
Best and closest place to stay on the beach to walk to activities down at the pier. Forth of July was hopping and we experienced it all with the local band at Time Square and then watched the fireworks from our room, which was on the top floor of the hotel facing the pier where we saw not only Fort Myers, but all surrounding areas fireworks. Hot time of year, I know, and it would have been perfect, if not for the pool closing for two days of our stay due to someone pooping in the pool.(Twice) Made the best of it by going to Naples Zoo and Bonita Springs Flea Market.

Kid friendly
Our trip was in June (off season), and we experienced service unlike any other hotel in the U.S. There were many children and the staff was always excited to see all of them. The rooms are cleaned everyday, the poolside waitresses are top of the line, and the bartenders know what they are doing. We will definitely be scheduling another trip to the Diamond Head.

The Perfect Family Getaway Resort
This hotel was everything we needed and so very nice. It was clean and neat, pool was a good size, everyone very nice, great location on the beach. For our family of four it was perfect, enough space for everyone and having a kitchenette to bring in whatever you wanted was a plus. A nice stroll to lots of places, especially the Pier. We will definitely be back!
