    "WARNING...WARNING...MOLD IN THIS HOTEL"

We stayed here a few years ago and it wasn't that bad. Especially for the price. But this time we noticed right away a weird smell when we walked in the room. We thought it was because the room was closed up for awhile so we turn the a/c on to clear it out. But smell stayed. Later my wife went to the bathroom and closed the door which is a pocket door that slides into the wall. The whole backside of the door was covered in black sooty mold. I had a pocket flashlight in my travel bag and I aimed it into the wall pocket that the door goes into and inside the wall was covered in mold also. Unfortunately we stayed the night because it was so late when we checked in. But our breathing was bad the next day. I told the clerk at the front desk about the mold on the door and in wall. She said she would have housekeeping clean the door with bleach. My thought is that's not going to do anything to solve the problem.. but no refund offered. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOLD INFESTED HOTEL

    PICTURES ARE DECEIVING!!

The only best thing about this hotel was the POOL and the close proximity of beaches in the area! The room was supposedly a nonsmoking room but it smelled of smoke!!! The bathroom door did not close! I was very disappointed!!! The pictures are so deceiving!!! If you are single or a couple just looking to stay for a night this may be the place for you! But if you have kids<<<<<< I would say check somewhere else!! This was definitely not worth my $83.00!!!!!!!!

Doesn't Live Up to the La Quinta name

We've stayed at several La Quinta hotels in the past and have always been very pleased. We came to town for a family wedding and this was the hotel where everyone was booked. Based on our past experiences, we were expecting a much different hotel than we received. Room Size and Features - We've never stayed at a La Quinta that did not have rooms opening to an interior hallway; this is important to us as we have small children. This one had all exterior doors. Also, the word "suite" is very misleading. Always before that has meant a bedroom with a door and a separate living area. All we received was one big bedroom with a TWIN size sleeper sofa. When I asked to switch rooms to a real suite, it took 2 conversations with front desk staff before they understood what I was asking for and explained that they had none of those rooms onsite ("Not all La Quintas are built the same, sorry") There was also very limited storage in the room; a tiny closet, four dresser drawers and no drawers in the nightstands. Due to the size of the room, one of my children slept on the twin bed and the other slept on the floor on top of the sofa cushion that had covered the sofabed. While our reservation clearly stated 4 people, there were no pillows or blankets for the sleeper sofa in our room nor were there enough towels in our room for our family. We had to call and ask for these items and were told we could come back up to the front desk to pick them up. Eventually the clerk offered to bring them to our room. Breakfast – The ā€œhotā€ breakfast was supposed to run until 9am. We showed up at 8:30am when all of the other families came down and tried to eat. The space they have available for breakfast seats maybe 20 people inside and about 60 people were trying to eat. It was December and we had to eat on the back porch because that was the only place we could find space (some people were sitting on the chairs in the lobby with plates on their lap). There were no cereals for children but it didn't really matter because the milk was completely gone. Nothing was restocked except for bagels. My 7 year old who eats anything wouldn't eat the waffles because they were that awful. Other Issues – It's a holiday weekend and the hotel was full. They allowed someone with a huge construction rig to park and take up 8 parking spaces at the back of the hotel. We could not park anywhere near our room the first night because of this. When the toilet in another family member's room backed up and they called the front desk, they were told that maintenance had gone home and would be back at 7:30am. After explaining that she had 3 small children who would need the potty at some point in the next 12 hours, the front desk staff finally agreed to get someone to come out and work on it. Had we not been there for a family wedding and on a holiday weekend when finding another hotel was impossible, we would never have stayed. It was not a good experience.

The godd, the bad, and really ugly

We specified a Non-Smoking room, and when we checked in, there were none available. Staff was not apologetic, nor willing to do anything for us to accomodate our request. For the price, I guess we got what we paid for........certainly no more. Unfriendly, not helpful staff.

    Bad Bed Bug Experience

We were down in Fl to look for a area to retire. We could have done without the bed bugs. I don't know if anyone else has ever had this happen to them, but it's not fun. My wife and I have bite marks all over our legs back and anckles. They itch terribly.

    not a 3 star!

arrived @ 2pm and asked to check in, lady said check in is NOT until 3pm and I said can you check if room is ready and she said come back at 3-room isn't ready. Room smelled like mold as soon as we walked in even though it looked clean. Had 2 teenage boys but sleeper sofa is a twin so it was only big enough for one-asked for a different room they said no, all sold out, asked for a cot, they said no we don't have cots so my son had to sleep on floor! Maintenance man walked around with a large, loud leaf blower cleaning all floors but blew everything in pool so it was dirty. Staff rude and unhelpful-stay somewhere else, not worth the money.

    Not too clean

Carpet was not clean, looked like it had not even been vacuumed. Also when I pulled the bed out a little from the wall to get to an outlet, we saw that the bed skirt was covered with hair and dust. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. Pretty disgusting.

    La Quinta Inn

The location was perfect since we were so close to Sanibel Island & the mattress was really comfortable. The negative list was longer. There was alot of noise on the weekend & we could smell cigarettes coming from next door. We had to buy bug spray because there were ants in our room (the outside door did not fit & there were gaps on both sides). When taking a shower, the water temperature would switch from very hot to cold.
