Clean & Comfortable
Employees at front desk were exceptionally helpful & friendly. They & the staff in the restaurant laugh & are happy, putting you at ease. What a great place it must be to work! New renovations have made things even better. The only negative is that it's in an ugly part of town. From the "Downtown Historic" in the hotel name, I thought we'd be able to walk to that area. It's not downtown, nor in the historic district.

Edison/Ford Museum & Lab. Also, there are lots of downtown shops & restaurants. Good place to stroll. Great Italian meal in a classy place.

Nice Place
The hotel staff was great. The restaurant staff service was poor. Went to dinner at 600pm. There was a small party going on in the dinning room so we sat in Bar area. After 15min. of sitting there I had to go find a server, when there was no one in the Bar. After ordering our dinners the server was no were to found. I had to go track down the server to get the check. Then she disappered and we had to go look for her to pay. The next morning we went for breakfest at 830am. Upon arrivial we found no one there. A min or two later the server came and we asked for menu and coffee. The server was less than happy to take care of us and told us it would be about 15 mins to get a cup of coffee. At this time we left and went to another place for breakfest. Not sure what the issue was as they open at 630am to why there was no coffee made. The rest of my stay I went out of Hotel for meals.

Daughters Wedding
We went to Florida from Indiana for our Daughters wedding. The location was at the Edison - Ford Estate. So the location was perfect,easiy to find anything you needed. We arrived 11-26-09 and stayed til 11-30-09,we had a very good time and felt safe staying with Holiday Inn.

Perkins Restaurants are our favorite place to eat when we come to Fort Myers. You can have any part of the menu at any time of day how great for everyones taste buds.

The hotel room was ...
The hotel room was standard. In the time we stayed, hotel staff made the bed every day and changed the towels. But, the room was never vacuumed nor did it appear that any other cleaning was done. The staff however were very polite and friendly.You are very far from any beaches and there is no easy way to get to any of them. We ate at the restaurant which has potential. But, whatever gimmick they are trying to pull off is not working and the prices are totally out of whack.
