I went on a baby-shopping trip cause i love sawgrass mills mall. The hotel location isn't the best for this trip, but laying ... on the bed after all day walking at the mall was worthed the 15 milles trip. Also, the shower couldn't get better than that.

The rooms were nice & clean, the pool & hottub were beautiful with a huge relaxing fountain. It was more off the path than I ... thought, but definitely worth the money & extra drive to get where we were going. Would stay in again. The restaurant food was great.

In town for the Monday nite football game. Got back to the hotel very late from the game and heavy traffic. I wanted to sleep ... in and enjoy the hotel. I put the do not disturb on the door. The maid was vaccuming very early all around my door aND KEPT HITTING MY DOOR! Then 2 maids were talking loudly up and down the hall to each other. The maid continued on other nearby rooms. They kept slamming doors and talking loudly. I am not sure of the exact time but I know it was before 8:15a.m. I finally got up and checked out. I would have rather had breakfast and took my time.

THE HOTEL IS IN AN AREA WITH LOTS OF EMPTY LAND. I DID NOT APPRECIATE BEING CHARGED $10 PER DAY TO PARK MY CAR. I UNDERSTAND ... THIS CHARGE IN A BIG CITY, BUT OUT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE, I REALLY RESENT IT.

The good, the bad and the really ugly

The rooms were clean and the maid service excellent, but is where the satisfactions ends. There is a $10 charge for daily ... parking. The refrigerator was locked. The hotel web site advertised free WIFI, but when I tried to connect in the room, there was a $10 charge. When I asked the people at the front desk, I was informed that free WIFI was in the lobby only, not what was advertised. Not at all pleased with the Westin and will never stay at another one.

I loved the hotel. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever been on. The location was perfect from everything me and my ... friends wanted to do. It's close to the beach and close to South Beach, Miami. The pool area was great with an excellent view.

This is a wonderful hotel if you are traveling on business. However, not very well suited for those needing walking distance ... entertainment. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. It took 15-30 minutes getting anywhere to eat. I will spend the extra money to stay at a hotel closer to civilization next time.

My stay at the Westin in Fort Lauerdale, FL was excellent. The hotel is located just a few minutes away from everything. You ... have the Sawgrass Mall close by and access to 95 as well. Meaning you can leave and return to different tourist attractions very easily with no confusion. Overall its a wonderful vacation getaway.

A very reasonable price for what was an excellent hotel. Rooms were large and clean, and the staff courteous. Only ... downsides were that A/C felt a little weak, the LCD was a bit blurry, and there are no vending machines to buy a drink or snack once the restaurant closes. But these were relatively small issues in a fine trip.

We stayed at this place for 4 nights: Most of the Hotel was clean but our room was not, the trash was not emptied daily and ... the counters look very dusty, we asked for mouthwash to the house keeping person and it was never brought to us, she was always out of something, ie shampoo, body lotion etc..

Rest'in at The Westin!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Westin for one evening after returning from our cruise... We drove up from Miami and ... without traffic the commute was only 40 minutes from MIA. Once we arrived at the Westin we were greeted by a friendly staff, beautiful landscape, amazing room "heavenly bed" , and a pool to die for. I would defiantly recommend staying at this hotel to anyone around Miami,Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm who doesn't mind not staying on the beach.

We were in Fort Lauderdale for a Wedding where activities were surrounding the other Westin on the beach. Unfortunately, I ... didn't realize there are 2 Westins in Fort Lauderdale and booked at this one by mistake. Initially, I was upset that Orbitz couldn't help us change hotels. However, we ended up really enjoying the hotel. The service was fabulous, the pool was perfect for our kids, and cleaning service was happy to come at a moments notice. The concierge helped us get a great deal on a car rental. From the other Westin location, we wouldn't have needed one. Overall, my mistake worked out just fine.

Westin was very clean and the rooms were a nice size for a couple. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. We did have ... a problem with very noisy neighbors, and they moved us to another floor with out a problem. We did have a refrigerator in the room, only found it by accident in the furniture. It would have been nice to know it was available for use the first few days. Resturant was closed so we had to go out of the hotel, unless we wanted room service. Room service was a bit pricey.

A shopping plazas with stores for practically every taste and need are minutes away from the beautiful Westin which is quite convenient for travelers arriving from out of state who are not familiar with the area.

The restaurant was closed the evening we arrived. We ordered our meal from hotel lounge area. Our meal was excellent. We were so glad,.. We were tired from a long air flight and the tasty meal soothed our tired bodies.

Although it is a 5-mile drive from the hotel, DO NOT MISS the Zagat-rated Grandma's Ice Cream and French Cafe, located at 3354 N.Ocean Blvd (Hwy A1A) in Ft. Lauderdale. They offer a 3-course prix fixe summer menu at $14.95, and both food and service are impeccable. The best French food I've had in a long time. My meal was exceptionally good, and finished off with a dish of fabulous homemade ice cream. Parking is scarce, but you can park down the street in front of one of the empty realty co. storefronts.

For anyone concerned with where to fill the gas tank on the rental car before returning it to the airport, several gasoline stations are very close to the hotel and easily accessible. Additionally, getting to the the Fort Lauderdale Airport is easy and relatively quick to do.

Shopping, a casino, movie theater and dining is available right underneath I-95! The staff never disclosed it. We "found" this mirage on our own after finding the casino. The area is not as desolate as you would think.
