Few hotels encapsulate the laidback luxury of Fort Lauderdale quite as well as The Westin Beach Resort and Spa. Perched right on the waterfront, with a 6,335-foot sundeck crowning the hotel's brilliant blue high-rise, guests will take in the Atlantic Ocean in all of its boundless glory. Sink into a daydream with a neck massage at the on-site Heavenly Spa, test the skills of local mixologists with a cocktail or two at the Waves Bar and Grill, or sit down to a prime steak at American Vintage restaurant.
Location
A trip around Fort Lauderdale doesn't demand much planning from the Westin Beach Resort; a guest needs only to step outside, and they will be within walking distance of the glitzy SunCruz Casino (the town's cruise port), Port Everglades, and a private skywalk to the striking white shoreline. A few blocks west lays the waterways and canals that have earned the city its nickname 'Venice of America'. The neighborhood is also a fashionista's paradise, with branded vintage rags and 'haute couture' to discover on nearby Las Olas Boulevard.

Relaxing, refreshing, family trip!

We were in town for a family wedding. The resort was refreshing, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is located close to anything you need. The only thing missing was a microwave. Overall had a great time.

Not as great as expected

We came to stay for a day and were under the impression that the hotel was on the beach, but it was quite a walk across the street or bridge. The parking was ridiculously expensive, $36 plus tax and the only available parking was valet. They also charge an automatic hotel fee of about $25 for a bottle of water and clean towels. The water in the shower did not get as hot as I would have liked, but at least the bed was comfortable. Overall, the price by the end was not worth the stay at all.

Good location

This resort was the perfect location if its your first time to Ft. Lauderdale. Just steps away from the historic Bonnet House and right in the Sun Trolley route. However, I think it could use some improvements. The concierge took a good three days for us until they finally were able to give us some helpful information. I felt they should have been much more knowledgeable about the area. Also the paper products in the room (tp & tissues) was super thin and cheap. We had to request more almost every day. Struggled with the slow response time of staff too. The first day we got items within 10 minutes of requesting. The the next two days it took over an hour each time with multiple phone call requests. Lastly be careful with their going green housekeeping option. They give you a door hanger that declines housekeeping and gives you a voucher for each night of decline. However the wording is deceiving, once you decline it they will not clean your room the entire time.

Family vacation

Fine stay in Ft. Lauderdale. Felt a bit like I was charged extra for everything, parking, internet, room, water. I know all the hotels do it but really? What brain trust decided to out a bathroom door with louvers (see through and sound), really? No privacy at all. Also the room was half the size of a regular hotel room.

Awesome Weekend Getaway

The staff and quality of service exceeded my expectations. Everyone on staff was absolutely delightful and courteous! The hotel is in a great location and their beach area was more quiet an peaceful than some of the other parts of the beach. I'd highly recommend the ocean view and the American Vintage restaurant located downstairs. I came here for a last minute weekend gateway and I can't imagine a better place to have visited on the east coast.

Solid Beachfront Choice

This was my 3rd stay at the Westin Beachfront in Fort Lauderdale. The location is great and the walkover which crosses over A1A is great from my pre-teens as I feel comfortable with them going back and forth between the beach and the pool on their own. Dining choices are great. Poolside cafe service has always been slow but the food is good. The pool is very average. Don't waste your $$$ on a cabana as the hotel blocks the sun in mid-afternoon, Rooms are very good but it is a hike from the lobby to the South tower. Elevators are slow in the mornings. They need two more. Starbucks on-site is fabulous. Valet Parking is a must but not cheap. Easy to walk to bars are restaurants. Book with confidence.

Many Fun Trips To This Destination

The Westin Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale is by far the BEST! The staff couldn't be more accommodating. The rooms are always nicely appointed and very clean....thank you, Jenny (Housekeeping Manager)!! The property is close to many restaurants/bars and walking on the beach at night is our favorite pastime.
