The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Fort Lauderdale glows as golden as the coastline at this beachfront Florida hotel. The wood-paneled rooms, gloss-floored lobby areas, and curving windows are styled like the cruise ships of old, and guests can dine like first-class passengers in Via Luna restaurant, with its slow-cooked meats and linguine specials. Youngsters will love the scavenger hunts, snorkeling and storytelling at the Ritz Kids club, while adults have VIP privileges at Grande Oaks Golf Course nearby. Palms are silhouetted against the Atlantic horizon from the blissful pool deck, and beautiful views are available below-ground when you book a sommelier-guided tasting tour down in the 5,000 bottle Wine Vault.

Over priced and poor quality services

The services were poor and overpriced give that it was 1) the Ritz and 2) the Room rates were pretty high. The hotel failed to pay attention to really minor details that all other comparable hotels have that make a stay comfortable and easy. Notable: 1) rooms did not have coffee makers, which means you had to pay for room service and also pay for hotel lobby coffee; 2) There were extra charges on services that should have been included in the high price: gym classes, lobby coffee, $5 for room service delivery (in adition to tax and tip); 3) The bedroom TV did not have movie service (on demand) - only the suite TV. But there was no couch in the suite, so we had to watch tv in the befroom and couldnt access the DVD or on demand. 4) There was only one person staffing the concierge desk at a very busy hotel on a holiday weekend and he was always busy, so there was always a wait to ask a question; 5) The restaurant messed up our order each time we ate there; 6) There was no light on the balacony-- so hard to enjoy it when it got dark outside; 7) They never refilled the fresh fruit bowl in the rooms; 8) The hotel charged $3+tax for cheap coffee in the lobby, whereas most hotels have either coffee makers or free coffee. Delivery to room was $20-- really outrageous for coffee; 9)

EXCELLENT

It was excellent. Obviously it's the Ritz and they are going to be accomodating. We caught tuna that day and the chef Jason made it several different ways for us. All staff was great and location was perfect. Don't forget the amazing pool on the 7th floor.
