The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale provides every amenity imaginable, featuring simple yet elegant decor. A staff with a helpful attitude ensures guests are satisfied. Concierge service, valet parking and top quality dining are some of the things to expect. Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale Rooms

The decor is simple but highly tasteful, with dark woods for the furnishings and cream or beige upholstery and gentle pastel shades for the walls. A GREAT PLACE

The hotel is really pretty, and with a great location. Ft. Lauderdale is a much more liveable place than Sobe, and a more "beachy" florida kind of vibe than Sobe offers.

Fantastic stay

The service at this hotel is impeccable; staff is friendly and did whatever it took to make our stay memorable. The hotel is perfectly clean in every area (even the pool restrooms were immaculate). The view of the ocean is stunning, especially from the ocean front king. The gym is top notch also.

Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, Fl

Great property and nice accomodations. Unlike previous stays, the room had some cleanliness issues and electrical problems. The mananger, [...], was quick to respond and invited us to dinner, which was excellent. I love the hotel and will definately return.

Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale

Good: Hotel was lovely although the walls are a little thin. Stellar front desk and valet service. Loved that you can get bottles of water at every turn. Beach accommodations perfect too. Bad: Housekeeping was below par---took towels and bathrobe but did not replace; took days to refresh water glasses. Also, one night asked for ice (only available through room service), but it didn't come. The hotel has only one dining restaurant, which has a limited dinner menu. Everything else in walking distance is greasy food. Not a place for people who like healthy dining.

Over priced and poor quality services

The services were poor and overpriced give that it was 1) the Ritz and 2) the Room rates were pretty high. The hotel failed to pay attention to really minor details that all other comparable hotels have that make a stay comfortable and easy. Notable: 1) rooms did not have coffee makers, which means you had to pay for room service and also pay for hotel lobby coffee; 2) There were extra charges on services that should have been included in the high price: gym classes, lobby coffee, $5 for room service delivery (in adition to tax and tip); 3) The bedroom TV did not have movie service (on demand) - only the suite TV. But there was no couch in the suite, so we had to watch tv in the befroom and couldnt access the DVD or on demand. 4) There was only one person staffing the concierge desk at a very busy hotel on a holiday weekend and he was always busy, so there was always a wait to ask a question; 5) The restaurant messed up our order each time we ate there; 6) There was no light on the balacony-- so hard to enjoy it when it got dark outside; 7) They never refilled the fresh fruit bowl in the rooms; 8) The hotel charged $3+tax for cheap coffee in the lobby, whereas most hotels have either coffee makers or free coffee. Delivery to room was $20-- really outrageous for coffee; 9)

Disappointed

My 3rd stay at a Ritz in 3 months and I think they've really lowered their standards to attract more guests. The rooms were nice, staff was friendly but not attentive at all-they had their own agenda. When exiting the hotel there were at least 6 bellmen/valets standing by the doors debating tips, no problem opening doors ourselves but at a Ritz you expect that little extra. Then we actually had to say "excuse me" so we could walk past them to our car...at the restaurant our drinks arrived "after" our below average meal which took a long time, and at the pool bar/grill we weren't even waited on at a table because the bartender was too busy with a couple he obviously knew. You feel more like an inconvenience to the service staff there...a big failure on managements' part.
