A clean and comfortable bargain

It is what it is -- a rundown 1950s building a block from the ocean, and a block or two from some big new hotels at the center of Lauderdale Beach. The land underneath is worth way more than the building, so why renovate? That said, the king-sized bed (I expected just queen) was solid, comfortable and attractively made. The room was basic but clean. The bathroom fixtures showed considerable age, but they too were spotless. Staff was friendly and helpful -- I called ahead to say I'd be arriving very late, and they made practical accommodations. The TV was small, but I didn't watch it. There were two typical motel chairs in good condition around a simple table, one of whom I comfortably used to read or peruse the web on my iPad, through a free and well-functioning WiFi connection .... All in all, if you're looking for a bargain-priced room to rest and rejuvenate while you do other things in town or on the beach, this motel will meet your needs.
