Rodeway Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport Cruise Port

We wanted a hotel that had an on-site restaurant - -it did, but it was in an extremely loud sports bar. The food matched the ambiance. The bathroom was missing some tiles and growing some mildew. The water out of the tap was yellow (rust?) and aromatic. Upon arrival we were given the key to the wrong room and disturbed a gentleman in his bed. The transportation from the airport and to the cruise port was excellent.

there was mold in the shower so, I wasn't happy. Our room was on the 2nd floor, with a big suitcase and no elevator, yulk! Not happy. From a middle aged lady. There was a man who entertained us while we waited for the shuttle. He was awesome.

Would rather have been at home.

I went sightseeing all over fort laudedale/miami and more. I has a restful time but this hotel was only near the airport and not any exciting activities. A car is a must unless you like walking or the bus.

Advertised free shuttle, but the van had big notices that stated min. gratuity $3 per person. The continental breakfast room had signs at every table, each door and walls asking for gratuity, very dis-tasteful. Besides the breakfast was virtually nothing.

This hotel was adequate, but it was not as "nice" as the picture shows. In fact, we thought we arrived at the wrong place. We got there late and entered the glaringly lit busy lobby which opened to a very loud sports bar. Yes, it was Spring Break week, but we were far enough away from the beach that I thought we would not be affected. However, we did stop in for a beer. The hotel room needed attention--the room showed signs of age and hard living by "spring breakers", but the beds and pillows were comfortable and we needed a place to stay. The "individual climate control" in the room was so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep. It got very hot! The breakfast was good, but things were not set up for ease of movement through the line. Nix the waffle machines and have an omlette station--I guarantee there will be less waste and quicker service. The woman attending to the breakfast items had a very good temperament, considering the impatient guests eager to go to the cruiseport (hours early). She was firm but very gracious. The front desk also sold food and beverage items (liquor, wine, soft drinks), souvenirs and sundries, which greatly slowed the check in/out process. The rack of brochures was very helpful and we even found a coupon for a very nice attraction (Flamingo Gardens) in one of them. We did not use the shuttle service, but an announcement was made that it left for the airport and cruiseport only at certain times and there was a nominal cost per person (very inexpensive compared to others), but it is advertised as a free shuttle.

Upon checking in, we were informed that they do not furnish shuttle to the airport before 7 a.m. -- but the driver would provide this service for an extra $15! Imagine our surprise when there were 10 other passengers (some who paid only $5 each). Adding insult to injury, the check-in clerk also enjoyed telling us that they would not furnish us with a bit of breakfast, not even juice because it was before 7 a.m. To top the morning off, the coffee maker in our room did not work! WE WERE NOT HAPPY!

\our room was very clean. There was no elevator to second floor, so baggage was very difficult since we were going on a two week cruise. We would go again because they have shuttle to port.

The room was fine. The lobby is a zoo on days when cruises depart. It was crowded with people waiting for shuttles to the port. Trying to checkout took awhile because of the crowd. We had a rental car which we turned in at the airport and took the free shuttle to the port.

Overall the experience was a good one. The staff was friendly and helpful although it did take a considerably longer time than it should have for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. However,upon checking out, the shuttle made up for it by taking us to the airport with no delays for our departing flight the next morning. My wife and I were returning from our honey moon cruise and the manager upgraded us to the honey moon suite at no additional cost. We purchased a shuttle to Los Olas which is a high scale shopping area in Fort Lauderdale and ends at Fort Lauderdale Beach. The homes with harbors and yachts attached to them was really a nice touch. The shuttle was $40.00 and if we had it to do over again we would have just rented a midsize car for the same price that way we would have had more time. The shuttle vans are somewhat in need of replacement. They were a bit worn out not too bad but noticeable. The continental breakfast was good, it served its purpose. The inn appears to have been recently remodeled. Our room was really clean with a nice LCD TV, new jacuzzi, clear glass shower doors with all chrome finished accessories and marble counter tops. A truck driver approached my wife without a shirt on while I was on the internet printing our boarding passes and she was waiting on the patio just outside the door to go to our rooms. I felt that the hotel staff could do a better job of preventing visitors from out of town from being hounded by local truckers that were treating the Inn like a truck stop.
