Not as exotic as pictured

This hotel was adequate, but it was not as "nice" as the picture shows. In fact, we thought we arrived at the wrong place. We got there late and entered the glaringly lit busy lobby which opened to a very loud sports bar. Yes, it was Spring Break week, but we were far enough away from the beach that I thought we would not be affected. However, we did stop in for a beer. The hotel room needed attention--the room showed signs of age and hard living by "spring breakers", but the beds and pillows were comfortable and we needed a place to stay. The "individual climate control" in the room was so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep. It got very hot! The breakfast was good, but things were not set up for ease of movement through the line. Nix the waffle machines and have an omlette station--I guarantee there will be less waste and quicker service. The woman attending to the breakfast items had a very good temperament, considering the impatient guests eager to go to the cruiseport (hours early). She was firm but very gracious. The front desk also sold food and beverage items (liquor, wine, soft drinks), souvenirs and sundries, which greatly slowed the check in/out process. The rack of brochures was very helpful and we even found a coupon for a very nice attraction (Flamingo Gardens) in one of them. We did not use the shuttle service, but an announcement was made that it left for the airport and cruiseport only at certain times and there was a nominal cost per person (very inexpensive compared to others), but it is advertised as a free shuttle.

EXCELLENT HOTEL!

We stayed at the Rodeway INN both before & after we went on a Caribbean Cruise. Let me tell you how helpful ALL the staff was at the Rodeway INN on coordinationg our transportation to and from the airport as well as to and from the cruiseport. It made our trip go sooo much smoother & easier! The hotel is very nice, very clean, & the staff was AMAZING! The Sports Bar next door had great food & drinks as well. They went above & beyond to take care of us & cater to us. It was such a treat! I will definatly stay here again & I will tell my friends & family to stay here as well. THANKS RODEWAY INN! P.S.- Thank you to the Manager, [...] & Staff for treating us so special.

Rodeway INN coordinated our transportation & admissions to the Everglades Airboat Tour in no time, it was amazing! (And much cheaper than doing it private party as well!)

Pre-cruise stop over

The guy who manages the hotel was very entertaining and informative. If you have never been on a cruise before he offered some good advice and the transfer to the sea port in the morning was organized and FREE. This isn't the Ritz but for $99 a good value considering I was there less than 18 hours. The room was clean and ready when I arrived at 3pm.

GREAT EXERIENCE....DESPITE OTHER REVIEWS

My experience was exceptional, although I really didn't know what to expect upon arrival. I am used to staying in 4-5 star rated facilities, but on this business trip I wasn't trying to break the bank. I was on business at the Broward Convention Center for 4 days. The shuttle service from the airport was extremely timely, to the Convention Center/Port was EXTREMELY timely--ALL THE DRIVERS were very professional, mannerly, punctual, knowledgeable about timeframes for pickups...NOT ONE single issue. The ENTIRE front desk staff both day and night were VERY help at checkout, suggesting places to eat, the morning complimentary breakfast was good--no complaints about the FREE food, cmon. Waffles, coffee, yogurt, pastries, very NICE hostess. Some of these people are looking for EVERYTHING for NOTHING. Despite some of the other reviews, my room was CLEAN, orderly, linen changed daily, fresh towels, coffee maker, WORKING WI-FI INTERNET IN THE ROOM (although I was prepared with my own hotspot on my cellphone) computers and printers in the biz center. I had no major complaints, EXCEPT a little "wind dirt" at the crack of the door near the hinges, and runny toilet, that was corrected by just jigling the mechanism on the inside of tank--much like you do you in YOUR OWN HOME. For the money I paid, this hotel was definitely a true Value.---If you want 5 STAR then be prepared to PAY 5 STAR rates. If I visit Ft. Lauderdale again on business, I would definitely stay here again..Great people, Great Service, Great Value

If you are NICE to the staff they will almost bend over backwards for you. I found each person very willing to accomodate the needs of Mr Washington...The drivers don't typically charge for shuttle service to airport or Port/Convention Center but please tip them as this SAVED me much money from having to rent a car.

Convenient with good service

Bare bones motel with excellent shuttle service to and from Ft. Lauderdale airport. Desk clerk was pleasant and informative, and shuttle driver is friendly and intelligent. In-room refrigerator. Stay on the 1st floor if you have luggage, since there's no elevator.

Food at adjoining sports bar was quite good, and inexpensive. I enjoyed a mushroom/swiss cheese burger with sweet potato fries and broccoli (about $11!), and my husband -- a picky eater -- loved his wings.
