Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel

[...] The parking was $20 per night…not cool considering the location isn't within walking distance to downtown or the beach. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk each night of my stay because they wouldn't answer when I called from the room. The cleaning staff didn't leave toilet tissue and I had to wait 40 mins for the staff to bring some. The room wasn't vacuumed during my 4 night stay. Each night we had to call the front desk and ask for an additional set of towels...I thought after the first night they would know that there were 2 people in the room. Internet service is not free in the room...even Holiday Inn provides free internet service. My girlfriend noted that the coffee was terrible, however there's a Starbucks next door. For the price, I think this hotel is overpriced and offers very little amenities. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I've never left a review for anything and now I'm in the process of sending my comments to the executive staff of this hotel. On the positive side, the hotel's lobby décor was nice and the pool looked invitingt. Check-in and checkout was quick. The valet parking attendant was nice…he let me temporarily park my car out front while I changed my clothing. The bed was really comfortable.

The locations was wonderful we could walk to any thing, shopping, food, dollar tree. The staff was great if we needed something they were ready to help. The room had hair on the sheets, no amendites except a tv, wet bar (which we used to store our water) and iron/board and blow dryer. oh yes we did have a one cup coffee/tea maker in the room. We will choose another location on the beach when we go again. No free wifi, no micro wave. those are things I want so I can take left over back to the room to eat later. Plenty of Hot water.

While the room was nice, clean and comfortable...I couldn't believe we were charged $25 per day to park our car. We also did not have free wireless internet service in our room. I could have stayed at any old place and gotten that but not here at the nice hotel. Very disappointed!! Will not stay there again.

The hotel staff were very nice. The bed was comfortable and linens clean. Everyday they had a featured ice water flavored with fresh fruit,( i.e pineapple, melon, oranges, etc). Very refreshing. The two things I didn't like about it, 1) There wasn't any free parking. They had a parking garage for $20 overnight or valet for $25 overnight. There is a shopping center across the street but there is a parking lot attendant guarding the area telling you that you can't park there. The parking spaces in front of the hotel are reserved for handicap (rightfully so), Valet, Remax, and a Bakery. 2)The room was VERY noisy. You could hear everything from the hallway and the room next door had a screaming child who would scream at the top of their lungs all day long.

The hotel was good,nice location,neat rooms,daily room service, Bad thing- Parking is $25 per day thats a very very high price for parking. Even though they provide breakfast, they will not let you know or give access to the club room. I believe it is only for the club members. which is not good.

great location for cruises

We were looking for a place to be safe and clean, we found most of what we expect. The room was just like the picture shown in the internet when we book it, the stuff is very very friendly and nice, the food was delicious, the view...PERFECT, my 3 years old son did not want to leave the pool!!!! We had a great time. Is close to everything walgreens, publix, and fast food restaurants...We just love it!!!

If you are visiting the convention center, it is a perfect location, as is the hilton. It is a very nice hotel with nice customer service. No complaints.

The hotel itself was lovely and very clean. The breakfast buffet was included in our price which made it very nice. It was in a very nice location and very convenient to Port Everglades where we were going the next day for a cruise. The gentlemen at the front door were most accomodating upon our arrival and also in helping us get transportation to the port the following morning. Now the bad news. We had driven 10 hours to get there and were exhausted. We got ready for bed at approximately midnight only to have the people in the adjacent room come in a short time later. They proceeded to turn on their TV full blast and laugh and talk above the TV. There were probably 6 people or more and this went on for hours. Finally we called the front desk and they sent up security to ask them to lower their voices. After security left, we heard them say nobody was going to tell them how to talk in a hotel room and they proceeded to get even louder. Needless to say we only got about 2 hours of sleep that night and were exhausted to start our cruise. That being said, at least the security tried to quiet them when we asked. I really can't blame the hotel for rude actions of other guests !!
