Ocean Sky Hotel and Resort

We stayed at the hotel 3 nights. 2nd night my skin was getting irritated with the sheets. Me and my husband came home with bunch of bed bugs bite. I won't go back there no more!

I travel all over the world & have never had an experience like this. I was on a two conference run in Florida. This was my time to relax. Arrived @ hotel about 12:30 - 1:00 AM after driving from Jacksonville. Went to bed extremely tired. when getting ready the next morning for a brunch meeting with a Doctor & staff in Lauderdale I noticed a spot on the cotton blanket. After closer inspection found blood on the sheet & blanket (NOT MINE). I took a better look & found blood splatter on two of the pillow cases. Staff gave ME attitude. I work for a medical lab & requested the pilow case so I could run test on the blood. I was told that would not happen. I offered to pay for the pillow case so I could see what I slept in. They refused. This is not over by a long shot!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. Ads show that it is nicely furnished but reality was that it was old, worn, torn curtains, musty smelling room and bathroom had mildew and mold. Beds were sagging in the middle and too soft. The clock didn't work. Microwave blew a fuse. Pigeons nested on the balcony. Balcony overlooked back door of hotel nearby and you had to look sideways to the water. This hotel may have seen better times but overall it was worn and needed major upgrading everywhere. Forget the hotel restaurant. Food was subpar. Staff were all nice and accommodating. Beach access was the only positive thing we really liked. We won't stay there again!!

When we arrived to check in the staff was exceptionally rude. We reserved a room with a king bed and were given a room with 2 double beds. When we asked if we could be moved to a room with a king bed the claimed that when you make a reservation online, the room type is only a request and not a guarantee (why would they give an option then?). So we were stuck in this double bed room with a deck shared with neighbors on either side and you could hear through the walls. On top of this, we walked into our room and 5 mins later maintainance people were there to fix a closet door. They should make repairs to a room when guests are NOT staying in the room. This is DEFINITELY NOT worth the price.

Horrible service. Did not get what we reserved for a room. called three times about our AC being broken and they never came to fix it. Tried to move us to a room without an ocean view even though we paid for one. The staff was extremely rude from cleaners to front desk staff. Bad location, expensive cab rides to most areas of interest. Bar closed at 10pm so we had to go to other hotels if we wanted to enjoy the night because we were too far from most places to go to.

They lost my reservation an made me wait 2 hours while they doodled around eventhough I had a confirmation, didn't honor free breakfast or welcome covktail, bar refused to give out water for free. Good location but everything fromthe staff to the rooms are far below par. Maids are theives and staff is horribly rude. Wouldn't go there again.

The Hotel was a nightmare from start to finish!!!! There many uninvited unregistered guests that used the Hotel facility like a public restroom. People were coming from the local neighborhoods to use pool and beach facility and the staff did nothing to stop them. Registered guests were charged $10.00 a day for parking and a $1.00 a day for a safe we never used!! I would rate this Hotel a one star and would never book this resort again!!!!!

Dont be fooled by the lobby, this hotel sucks!! The lobby was very beautiful, but once you got upstairs reality set in!! The rooms are old and need MAJOR updating! The hotel staff was RUDE! You cant bring food from outside to the pool area (snacks while you are swimming? No pay there outragous prices!). There is a deposit they dont tell you about until you get there which you get back if your room is in good order. Also had to PAY EXTRA for everything... Beach chair $5 per day (or per few hours us use it), umbrella $10 per day (or per few hours you use it), parking $10 per day and there was a $1 per day charge for the safe in the room (which I didnt even use, but still had to pay)! Hotel had 1 restaurant and 1 bar with outragous prices. I should have stayed across the street at the BUDGET HOTEL for much less, I AM SURE THE ROOMS WERE THE SAME QUALITY and they probably have continental breakfast!! I will never stay at this hotel every again and I will never recommend it to anyone!!! Beach was lovely, but there are many other hotels to choose from in that area!!

The hotel looks good on the outside but very disappointing once you get off the elevator. The rooms are very small and outdated along with the bathroom. Always had to ask for fresh towels. The beach was ok but couldn't take a beach blanket, soft drink, chair, or cooler. You have to rent everything you take onto the beach. The beds were terrible,very old and broken down. I definitely would never stay here again. There are other hotels for the same price or a few dollars more with better amenities and rooms.
