Beautiful Hotel=Beautiful Weekend
Maggie Nov 11, 2009
The hotel was gorgeous and the staff was very organized and friendly. The rooms were decorated beautifully and very ... thoughtful in their amenities (dish detergent, q-tips, coffee, blow dryer, etc.) and I loved the pretty white crib they brought up for our daughter. The restaurant inside is absolutely one of the best I've ever been too. You've got to try their homemade mozzarella! Anyhow, there's no question that when I return to Ft. Lauderdale, I'll be returning to Il Lugano.

Opulent and Stylsih Suites and Lobby
storm Oct 26, 2009
This boutique hotel is an excellent choice for the cost-conscious and trendy who enjoy stylish, well-designed rooms and ... hotels. Even though the lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are beautiful, the hotel still manages to have a very comfortable and welcoming vibe for visitors of all ages, including young children.I especially enjoyed the complementary sit-down hot breakfast in the hotel's four star restaurant each morning and the lovely view of the lake that sits right outside the back of the hotel. My only complaints would be that the hotel is located further away from Ft. Lauderdale beach (AIA) than I was expecting. [...] If you want to be completely away from the action and noise of others, then this hotel would be a great choice.Plus, whenever I called the front desk the phone would not be answered immediately; it would ring many, many times before it would be picked up. Aside from this, the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. So, overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially if you like boutique hotels and prefer to be in a quiet, secluded section of Ft. Lauderdale.

We were visiting Ft. Lauderdale and had stayed at another hotel last time. We would absolutely stay here again! The rooms ... were clean, spacious, elegant and what a spectacular view! The restaurant at the hotel was very nice, yet we were looking for something a bit more casual.

Beautiful and Unbeatable Location
Sparkle Oct 24, 2009
Our stay was fantastic. We did a lot of walking for sightseeing in the area. The restaurants and the food is very good. We ... enjoyed the shopping at the malls and boutiques. The only thing that I would have liked to see in the hotel was a convenient shop for snakes and gifts. We will see you again very soon. We love the weather there. Thanks again for your service.

It doesn't get any better then this hotel. Rooms are huge with every luxury. Checked in hotel and needed shower after diving. ... After we went to dinner we returned the room was replenished and the bed had been turned down for us. Great service in a impeccably modern room. It even had a great little stereo to listen to music.

great location , great package on cheap tickets , the only negative feedback would be the girl who checked us in , was ... unfriendly at all ! but the one who was there at night were totally lovely , showed us places around the hotel , bars , restaurants . and as expected u have to pay for ur parking 15$ per day , or just use the meter parking , but then u have to get up at 8 am to add coin to it ! i got a 25$ ticket at 8:9 am ! as if the cup was waiting for the 8 clock ticket ! other than that it is awesome everything !

Adequate, but disappointing
Zoolady Jun 17, 2009
The Hotel itself is a nice place. Unfortunately either it was understaffed or the staff they had were totally incompetent. ... Continental breakfast every day was a joke (cold eggs, hot milk, not enough, etc). There were never towels at the pool (unless of course, I brought my own down, then they were plentifully supplied.) The Hotel offers a concierge service to supply guests with pre-printed boarding passes prior to departure. I requested this service & was assured it would be taken care of, however upon departure no one seemed to know what was going on. The Cadillac Escalade we rode in was filthy & no return service was available,Overall We had a good time because we were together but, I would have to say that the hotel experience was a big disappointment after all it was hyped-up to be.

The hotel was awesome! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate and I loved the decor. We had a ... view of the intercoastal. My only negative comment about the hotel would be the pool. It is a little on the small side and where the pool is situated, it does not receive much sun.

What a great place - boutique hotel. Very trendy. Staff are friendly, from Valet, to front desk to restaurant and lobby ... bar! Restaurant was packed and very active when we checked in at 9:45pm, so they suggested we go to the lobby bar and they served us there where it was quiet. Made us something not on the menu. Great food! Room was top drawer, fully equipped for short executive type stays. We make several short trips a year to Ft Lauderdale and this will be our new home away from home.
Traveler type: Couples
We used the Valet as it saved us considerable time with our in ant out shopping. They also have a nice Caddi Escalade which they will shuttle you around in if needed.

Great access to grocery and drug stores. Great restaurants, highly recommend Luccas for Italian, Shooters for everything and Dunkin Donuts for iced coffee. Don't miss the water taxi for a day trip. Terrific fitness center. Rooms were amazing. View from our balcony even better. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would come back!!
--mom and daughter, minneapolis, MN May 5, 2009
Less than a block away (but you would not know it...somewhat hidden. I discovered it on my last day) is a strip of restaurants (French, Greek, Hispanic, etc.) and stores for shopping. So convenient!
--Springbreak Educator, Indianapolis, IN Apr 24, 2009
Definitely need a rental car. Nothing in this area for entertainment.
--Alisa-Travelbug, Shiloh, IL Apr 6, 2009
Just a short walk around the corner is a great place for lunch right on the water called Shooters you can eat inside or out its all open. Food, price and service was all a good value. The concierge was most helpful with anything you may need from where to eat or arranging rides for where ever you may need to go.
--Cruisers, Boston, MA Mar 10, 2009
The hotel's restaurant is a 3 star variety run by a famous chef.... so dinners are pretty pricey..... lots of other good dining within a 10 minute drive.... there is limo shuttle service to almost anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale.
--Nanna Rosalie, Long Island, New York Mar 4, 2009
On the first Sunday of ever month at 11am, there is a free Jazz festival along the river walk, just a few blocks west of the Las Olas shopping area. Take a bottle of wine, listen to music and relax.
--Snowbirds for 4 Days, Iowa Mar 4, 2009
Fort Lauderdale is full of overprice restaurants, my wife and I found ourselves enjoying a little hole in the wall more than any of the other pricey options. It is called Primatis and it is on A1A just before the strip if your coming from the hotel. They serve pizza and sandwiches and they were just fantastic for the affordable price.
