Il Lugano Suite Hotel

Upon my arrival I was informed that I had received an upgrade from ocean view to intracoastal view accomodations; the view was very nice indeed, as were the spacious, well appointed accomodations. The major negatives were the absence of the corkscrew, which is apparently supposed to be included with the room's utensils, a contradiction in the check out time-folio stated 11:00; reservation & website indicated 12:00-and an invalid charge for valet parking. The invalid charge was removed expediently. Happily, the negatives were overshadowed by what was truly a very nice and comfortable place to relax.

A great respite for a night before a connecting flight the day after. Thanks!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, but for the first time in five years, our room was not cleaned one day.

Beautiful hotel but the staff needs some professionalism. The front desk ladies have a major attitudes. The restaurant was awesome!

This is a fabulous hotel. Our family of four (including 9 and 11 year old girls) had a wonderful time at this upscale hotel. Our suite included a washer and dryer, kitchenette and two queen beds. A balcony overlooked the Atlantic Ocean, although next time we'd opt for the inland waterway side and its glorious sunsets. The rooms appear newly refurbished and are in all respects modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The hotel is three blocks from the ocean, but a five block walk to the beach via public access. The surrounding businesses are a bit run down, and some bars can be noisy at night with outdoor loud-speakers going until 2 in the morning. Thus, the location rates only a 3 of 5. Metered parking is plentiful and way cheaper than the hotel's valet parking ($30 per day!), but the metermaids sit in the lots 7 days a week at 7:59 am ready to issue tickets at 8:00 am to those with expired meters. This is the reason for an amenities score of 4 of 5. By the way, the back of the hotel that borders the waterway has extra large caban chairs on raised platforms to wath the sunsets, and the pool and hot tub were great for kids and parents alike. Its a beautiful setting that could not go unmentioned. Bottomline: I'm not easily impressed, but this place is great!

I stayed at Il Lugano during a leisure vacation and was extremely impressed! The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating throughout our entire stay. The room was clean with a very comfortable king sized bed and a terrace which overlooked a scenic intercoastal view. Each room has a full kitchen and the fridge was full with drinks for and snacks for our enjoying. We used their shuttle service to and from the airport and the drivers were very helpful and friendly. There are many nightclubs and resturants nearby and the drivers are available to take you wherever you need. I would definately recommend this hotel to anybody if they are looking for five star quality and friendliness!!!

The Il Lugano Hotel was terrific. The rooms were extremely clean. I have never encountered a more courteous and friendly staff. Each room had wonderful kithchen facilities with a dishwasher. The rooms also had a washer and dryer which came in very handy. The hotel provided complimentary dish soap and Tide. The location was very pretty. The balcony had a great view of the ocean. They have a complimentary boat and car that can take you places within 5 miles of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!!

Il Lugano Hotel just opened 2 months ago but the place runs very nicely. The rooms are great, (get one with a view of the waterways, it's better than the ocean view 3 blocks away). Rooms are quiet, clean and the refrig plus stove were great. I would stay here again. **low points. The restaurant is not yet ready. Valet parking cost extra. **High points. Reserve the boat for a short tour. No cost except gratuity for the Captain. Concierge was very helpful. The soft music and low lights outside made for a romantic setting by the waterway. This is not a HUGE hotel but that makes it more suitable for us. Try it.

The room was beyond awesome, and fuly sstocked! The bedding was ultra luxurious. The staff was so wonderful. The let give you complimentary valet service anytime within 5 miles in their new CADDY ESCALADES, WITH VERY PROMPT AND COURTEOUS SERVICE!!

Il Lugano is a brand new property and this makes it a desirable place to stay. We decided not to use the valet parking option as the cost is a bit high, however, we utilized the municiple parking literally right in front of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to couples. The Concierge is very helpful and the hotel room amenites are excellent. They have wireless throughout and offer a continental breakfast in the price of the hotel room. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and a couple of blocks from the beach. The actual hotel location is sort of off the beaten path, not much there, but you are litterally on the Inter-Coastal. We had dinner in La Olas section of Fort Lauderdale about 5 miles from the hotel, which is a very nice area and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle should you not have a car at your disposal.
