Contemporary Fort Lauderdale suite hotel for business or leisure

Well-heeled travelers embrace the Il Lugano Suite Hotel, a 14-story contemporary hotel that towers above the Intracoastal Waterway. VIP extras ensure guests are pampered, starting with four dock slips for yacht parking and chauffeured Escalade rides within a three-mile radius. Suites are equipped with full gourmet kitchens, but no one would fault travelers for booking reservations downstairs, where an upscale Italian restaurant is a claim to fame for a celebrity chef.

Highlights
  • All-suite luxury hotel on the Intracoastal Waterway
  • In-room spa treatments
  • Chauffeured Escalade transportation (based upon availability)
  • Boat dock and waterfront pool
Rooms

Spacious suites at the Il Lugano Suite Hotel cater to travelers who appreciate luxuries like 400 thread-count bedding, in-room spa treatments and European bath amenities. Rooms are high on style, favoring clean lines and modern accents like oval ottomans and lamps with oversized shades. Free Wi-Fi is a given, as are two LCD TVs and an iPod docking station that streams tunes through a Bose sound system.  Full gourmet kitchens invite guests to prepare meals in their temporary home, which features a dining table and fully furnished balcony for soaking up the views before or after dinner.

Dining

The Italian restaurant seduces with juicy flavors like the signature mozzarella and handcrafted pastas in a scene as luscious as the hotel itself.

Recreation

High rollers and executive travelers indulge in South Florida opulence every time they board Il Lugano One, which hosts private sunset cruises along the Intracoastal Waterway. Guests can also request to dock their own yachts in one of four slips on the property.

Back at Il Lugano Suite Hotel, patrons break a sweat on Precor machines in the fitness center or relax in cabanas by the heated waterfront pool and outdoor Jacuzzi.

When exploration is in order, the hotel can arrange chauffeured rides aboard a Cadillac Escalade within a three mile radius (based on availability) or excursions on the beach aboard il Carrello, which seats 10.

From the moment I was greeted at the Entry Way until Checkout the Staff was fantastic. The Lobby area was inviting and comfortable. The room was awesome with a great veiw to watch yachts slowly cruising by. I will be returning again soon.

An Almost Absolutely Tranquil Experience

Upon my arrival I was informed that I had received an upgrade from ocean view to intracoastal view accomodations; the view was very nice indeed, as were the spacious, well appointed accomodations. The major negatives were the absence of the corkscrew, which is apparently supposed to be included with the room's utensils, a contradiction in the check out time-folio stated 11:00; reservation & website indicated 12:00-and an invalid charge for valet parking. The invalid charge was removed expediently. Happily, the negatives were overshadowed by what was truly a very nice and comfortable place to relax.

Il Lugano

Words cannot express how enjoyable our experience was at this hotel. The staff always went the extra mile to make things more than extremely pleasant. This Hotel is great, elegant and great service, IL Lugano Suite is excellent with beautiful huge room with very big balcony, sitting area and kitchen. It felt like we never left our home. The hotel is 5 min walking from a family friendly beach.

Great place for just two or the whole family

Had a great time in Florida the hotel was wonderful the staff could have not been more friendly and helpful and the view of the ocean, day or night was perfect. Being on the water (inter coastal) and two blocks from the beach was great.

Great hotel, Slightly Out of the Way

This was a great hotel and very reasonably priced, if slightly out of the way. Room was clean and spacious, bed very comfortable. We had a jr. suite which came with a kitchen, sofa area, and balcony. Room service meals were delicious if a bit pricey; the entrees were on the high side and the automatic service charges jack the total a fair bit. Staff was very knowledgeable about the local area. The location is slightly out of the way, about two miles North of Las Olas and most of the major hotels. You have to drive to get to that scene or any of the other nightlife in the city. I read the hotel has a complementary car service out to three miles but I had a car which I parked through the valet ($25 for two nights). The beach is about a five minute walk from the hotel and rather secluded. The Intercoastal side has a beautiful view. The Oceanside looks out on a rather grungy area between the hotel and the sea. That area is a bit of a downside when walking around.

wonderful except...

Let me begin by saying this hotel is beautiful! My room was meticulously kept. My only complaints... 1. We are from New Jersey and the flight we took arrived at 10:30am. Check in isn't until 4:00, but I travel often and know that most hotels will check you in by one. I planned for this and upon arrival, checked into hotel at 11:00 am, gave them a number to call, and went food shopping and grabbed a bite to eat. By 2:00 pm we did not receive a call. When we called them, a room was already ready. This was only a slight frustration, and did not affect our experience. 2. The pool is located in an area that will only get direct sunlight at around 2:00pm. So don't plan for any noon tanning. This being said, the pool was very clean (no surprise) and there are plenty of comfy pool chaises. those were our only issues, so obviously the vacation was wonderful! We cannot conclude this review without mentioning two places that you must visit when staying here... 1. Blue Jean Blues- live blues and jazz twice a day, everyday and great drinks, service and munchie foods! 2. Fishtales- we came here everyday for lunch, and the food is fantastic! The prices are great too! Both of these places are within a two minute walk from the hotel. All in all, our experience at illugano was a wonderful one! Not only will we reccomend it to everyone we know, but we will stay there again.

Great Hotel

Great hotel! Rooms are spacious and updated. Beds and pillows top notch. Restaurant and bar are small but good. Wake up call and cab ordering were great. Down the street from several good restaurants. Highly recommend for business travel or a family.

A great place to relax!

I enjoyed a spacious room and a view to the ocean from my King Studio Suite. After a day at the beach (within 10min walk) the hot tub by the pool was very welcoming. The pool was open until dusk and if I wanted to exercise in the gym or visit the steam room, there was easy key-card access with unrestricted hours. I always keep odd hours when I'm on vacation, so I appreciated the flexibility and great room service when I wanted to dine in. I highly recommend staying at the Il Lugano Hotel.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The restaurant in the hotel is very gourmet - great dishes and fairly high-price. Worth trying out and a reservation is a good idea if you don't want to squeeze into the bar. Other restaurants are up the road; within 20 minutes on foot walking north on North Ocean Blvd.

nice trip

The room is spacious. It's got a mini kitchen. Staff are nice. Overall experience is good. There is wifi in the room, but can never get connected. I don't know why parking has to be valet parking. $20/ day is too much.
