Contemporary Fort Lauderdale suite hotel for business or leisure

Well-heeled travelers embrace the Il Lugano Suite Hotel, a 14-story contemporary hotel that towers above the Intracoastal Waterway. VIP extras ensure guests are pampered, starting with four dock slips for yacht parking and chauffeured Escalade rides within a three-mile radius. Suites are equipped with full gourmet kitchens, but no one would fault travelers for booking reservations downstairs, where an upscale Italian restaurant is a claim to fame for a celebrity chef.

Highlights
  • All-suite luxury hotel on the Intracoastal Waterway
  • In-room spa treatments
  • Chauffeured Escalade transportation (based upon availability)
  • Boat dock and waterfront pool
Rooms

Spacious suites at the Il Lugano Suite Hotel cater to travelers who appreciate luxuries like 400 thread-count bedding, in-room spa treatments and European bath amenities. Rooms are high on style, favoring clean lines and modern accents like oval ottomans and lamps with oversized shades. Free Wi-Fi is a given, as are two LCD TVs and an iPod docking station that streams tunes through a Bose sound system.  Full gourmet kitchens invite guests to prepare meals in their temporary home, which features a dining table and fully furnished balcony for soaking up the views before or after dinner.

Dining

The Italian restaurant seduces with juicy flavors like the signature mozzarella and handcrafted pastas in a scene as luscious as the hotel itself.

Recreation

High rollers and executive travelers indulge in South Florida opulence every time they board Il Lugano One, which hosts private sunset cruises along the Intracoastal Waterway. Guests can also request to dock their own yachts in one of four slips on the property.

Back at Il Lugano Suite Hotel, patrons break a sweat on Precor machines in the fitness center or relax in cabanas by the heated waterfront pool and outdoor Jacuzzi.

When exploration is in order, the hotel can arrange chauffeured rides aboard a Cadillac Escalade within a three mile radius (based on availability) or excursions on the beach aboard il Carrello, which seats 10.

Fort Lauderdale

Nice rooms price would be okay if hotel was in different location. Not much to surrounding area. Daily parking rate was outragous. Maybe would have been worth the price if near Miami Beach. This hotel boasts high-class but was located in average-below average area.

Beautiful Hotel!

We stayed at the Lugano the day before we departed for a cruise at Port Everglades. What a nice find, the rooms were spacious, spotless and had a great view of the intercoastal waterway. Wish we had more time to spend there. Would definitely go back if ever in the Fort Lauderdale area again. Staff and Concerige most helpful. Only drawback was the breakfast service and selection could have been better.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Just a short walk around the corner is a great place for lunch right on the water called Shooters you can eat inside or out its all open. Food, price and service was all a good value. The concierge was most helpful with anything you may need from where to eat or arranging rides for where ever you may need to go.

Il Lugano Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl

This is a beautiful ultra modern apartment/hotel. The atmosphere and service is really fine and tasteful... the 1 Bedroom apartment with kitchen suite is superb. Lovely Ocean View as well..... Classy stay without being pompous.

The hotel's restaurant is a 3 star variety run by a famous chef.... so dinners are pretty pricey..... lots of other good dining within a 10 minute drive.... there is limo shuttle service to almost anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale.

Great Hotel

Our King Bed room was very clean and nice with a kitchenette including a full size refrigerator, mircowave and a Bose radio. The balcony had a great view of the ocean 3 blocks away. The way the rooms are set back from the hallway they are extremely quite. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Although there were kids there, it felt more like a couples hotel. The location is about 1-2 miles north of the main Ft Lauderdale beaches but there are number of less busy beach access points very close by. Most resturants are 1-3 miles north or south. Two great seafood places are 1 mile north on Commercial Blvd. Aruba Beach Cafe is on the beach, reasonably priced and maybe a bit more of a local place. Blue Moon is about 6-8 block inland from Aruba and very good but more expensive. The hotel resturant is also very good but pricy. There is an excellent Italian bakery a few blocks away that has great pastries and cuppacino. Parking is my only complaint. The hotel ramp is expensive unless you are used to downtown big city prices. Across the street is a city lot with meters which is free from 6pm to 8am but you must plug the meters during the day. Believe me they patrol these meters closely starting at 8am. The hotel was helpful in understanding the meter situation and exchanging for quarters.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

On the first Sunday of ever month at 11am, there is a free Jazz festival along the river walk, just a few blocks west of the Las Olas shopping area. Take a bottle of wine, listen to music and relax.

This hotel is almost brand new and the rooms are exceptional. The suite includes a living room, kitchen (no stove), and bedroom with attached bathroom, as well as a large balcony. The rooms were an excellent value for what we paid, and it would have been a home run if not for the staff. I hate to even say that the staff was bad, because most of them were not, and most of them were helpful. It was just the one or two that left a dirty taste in your mouth. The pool doesn't get sunlight until about 4pm, but its nice because your skin can relax from the attacks of the uv-laced Florida sun. The restaurant was great for breakfast though a bit pricey but it was worth it. And they will drive you just about anywhere with there escalades as long as it is within 3 miles, but they'll stretch it a bit. Overall a great experience, but again just beware of the gumpy staff.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Fort Lauderdale is full of overprice restaurants, my wife and I found ourselves enjoying a little hole in the wall more than any of the other pricey options. It is called Primatis and it is on A1A just before the strip if your coming from the hotel. They serve pizza and sandwiches and they were just fantastic for the affordable price.

Good Hotel

This was my first experience at this hotel. The hotel has a great design. The suites are very comfortable: nice bathroom, two TVs, complete kitchen, fridge, even washing machine and dryer in the room. I paid extra to get an Ocean view. Little did I know that the Ocean is actually 3 blocks away, so you can actually see the Ocean, but there are 4 buildings in the middle. There is a small nice balcony. The other side of the buildings look to the canals. It's nice to lay in the cabannas and watch the sunset. The swimming pool doesn't get any sun throughout the day (at least in December). There's a small hot tub. If you want to sun tan your best bet are the cabannas or go to the beach (See helful hint below). As far as restaurants, there is a good one at the hotel. Otherwise, nothing worth pointing out in the area. For Entertainment, I didn't find anything to point out in the area.

Fresh and new

This hotel is less than a year old. As such, there are still a few kinks to be ironed out, but it's just so lovely to be in a place that is new and fresh and sparkling new. No stains on the carpet, all the grout white as the driven snow... The location isn't ideal: not close to the best that Ft. Lauderdale has to offer. And the pool is a bit sad: squeezed in right up against the side of the hotel, so it rarely receives a single beam of sunlight. But the hotel is overall clean and comfortable and the staff is incredibly friendly and -- I look forward to returning soon, while it's still shiny and new.

As for my room it was superb. It was well kept and very comfortable, it felt like home away from home. I love your choice in furnitures, every piece was place in the right location which gave the room a bigger look. The bed was very comfortable, the pillow and sheets were fresh and soft just like it should be. I love the kitchen, never can go wrong to find a hotel room with a full kitchen. Hey, I can go on and on about this beautiful hotel, but, you get the idea, I love it and will stay there again(if I can afford it)in a heart beat, keep up the good work.
