Nice room with beautiful view, very clean. The staff was very helpful - maybe the people at the poolside bar could be more ... considerate of all their guests. We had good service, but we noticed not everyone had that benefit.

Modern luxuries at a great rate!
Christine Modern Traveler Oct 26, 2009
The location was great -- close to the beach and to Downtown/Las Olas. The boats at the marina were a hit as well. Cabs were ... easy to come by and the concierges/hotel staff were friendly and obliging. Late check-out, which is always essential, was easy to obtain and at no charge. The Pool area was laid out perfectly -- plenty of comfortable lounge chairs with ample room for all guests, there was water with lemon set out, and there was also a great pool bar with good drink prices and light fare. The rooms had all of the amenities you need in a home away from home -- high-end hair dryer, plenty of towels, good toiletries (even cotton swabs!), a mini-fridge, flat-panel TV, super comfortable bed, pen and paper, and a guide book and magazine for the hotel and FLL/MIA area. I will definitely go back to this hotel the next time I'm in the area!

Don't use the cabs that the concierge calls -- it is a van service that charges you almost double the rates of a regular cab. My ride from the hotel to Las Olas was $16 (and my ride back from a regular taxi service was $9).

Lovely Hotel
Jane D. Aug 2, 2009
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk staff was very good. My rate through Orbitz was great. I ... upgraded to a waterway view and it was just fantastic. The room was nicely appointed and the housekeeping staff were very good. I will have to say there was some wear showing - but it really was very minor. The pool was fun with a great mix of people of all ages. A nice atmosphere with beautiful yachts to see.The outside bar was great. There were two negatives that kept me from giving all stars. 1. The Hilton's parking fee is ridiculous - 19 per night. 2. The staff at the inside casual lounge was just truly horrible - rude and unapologetic. However, the Manager was kind enough to comp my purchase for me - without me even asking. I had a great time and highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Getaway
Mom's getaway Jul 13, 2009
I had a great time. i came down for a getaway from the everyday mundane and found it.I didn't rent a car because I didn't ... expect to do anything but hang by the pool and got to the beach. When I arrived there were other things that interest me food, drink, tours, museums, etc.. A 15 min cab ride was nearly $30!! I could have rent a car for a day for those prices. Besides not complaints. The water taxi picks you up from the hotel deck. You ride all day for $13! The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. i almost slept better than I do when I'm home. There is a french bakery across the street at the cruise pier...great breakfast and starbucks down the street. The hotel only had elegant dining. There is also a casual but very nice dinner restaurant across in same area of bakery, called Jackson's Bar & Grill. The staff was nice at both places and the food was good.

This hotel was just ok. I have stayed at other Hiltons that were far better. Parking was $23/day which is crazy. Location was ... nice but I grew up in Ft Lauderdale and have stayed at much nicer places (my husband wanted to stay at this Hilton... he wishes he would have listened to me). The pool was nice but the room was just average. The front desk woman was very polite. They also had a crib ready for our baby when we got to our room which was very nice.

The Grande is newly remodeled and very lovely. It is on the Intracoastal, not the beach , making it a better choice for ... convention goers, pre post cruisers and those who want to bask by a pool , than those who want to enjoy the Ocean. It's not walking distance. Beuatiful rooms though and a newly opened China Grill on premises.

I enjoyed my trip and stay at the Hilton immensely. The staff were always kind, respectful and courteous. They were always ... egger to make sure that our needs were met. What is the purpose of the, added fee for the parking situation? I would choose the Hilton again on my next trip to Ft. Lauderdale.

Very nice hotel, great view of intercoastal and it's many yachts, very freindly staff that even allowed us to check out 2 ... hours later without a charge, nice patio overlooking the pool and courtyard, only thing I would have liked in the room was a nice easy chair to relax in. All in all, highly recomended, would return again.
