Not a quiet hotel. Nov 17, 2009
Loved the beach, pool and fitness center at this hotel. The accommodations were sort of noisy... we could hear everyone in ... different rooms and outside in the hallway. Also they had many events going on during the weekend (weddings and some sort of heavy metal reunion) and they were not prepared it seemed within their restaurant. Overall, nice place, could of been quieter and more included for the price.

Loved the out of the way location and private beach. 3030, the restaurant at the hotel was delish - really wonderful! ... Enjoyed the private beach and service and amenities avaialable on the beach. No evening turndown service, not a big deal, but it is a nice service. A beach front room is the way to go, includes a small balcony with chairs. There were some local Charity events going on as well as tourist business.

The Riverboat Dinner Cruise was cute. There is some flashing and mooning of the boat as you pass by some of the locals/businesses. The food, although average, came with very good service. The entertainment at the private island was just okay. But enjoyable to see some of the local scenery and have a slow boat ride in the inlets/river.

Grab some breakfast at the Starbuck's located in the hotel lobby and head out to the beach. Lounge chairs and towels are free - umbrellas and cabinettes are pretty reasonable if you are going to spend the day. Get a beach service flag and get drinks and lunch served to you on the beach - remember there is a 20% gratuity added as 'beach service' so you don't need to tip on top of that. It's a great and convenient way to spend a relaxing day on the beach. Kids can get a bagful of beach toys to play for the day at no charge - nice perk for parents.

Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa was an excellent beach front resort. This is truly a five star resort. My wife and I ... visited this resort for our 4th anniversary and I couldn't have selected a better resort in Ft. Lauderdale. The views of the beach were beautiful, although the outside ballroom is currently under construction, the noise didn't affect a wonderful, restful stay at this resort. The self-parking was 21 dollars, but the stay was well worth it and my [...] rate was fantastic.

BB from Philly Sep 28, 2009
Stayed at this hotel for a seminar that my job sent me to. Loved the location - right on the beach. Rooms were clean and ... the beds were comfy. Meals served for lunch at seminar were tasty. Short walk from a strip of shops and restaurants and a short cab ride to several other shops and restaurants. Definitely would like to stay again if my personal budget can afford it.

The hotel is lovely and many of the staff are very friendly and give good service, but not all. The hotel has everything you ... need to enjoy your stay and is a short walk from several restaurants. The hotel's private beach is AWESOME and a key reason to select this hotel over others. Food and beverage is pricey - be prepared to spend.

No diving available
Tulula Sep 9, 2009
They still advertise in diving magazines and on the website as if you could dive from the shore which is totally not true. ... We had to take taxi to closest dive shop or walk 1/2 mile down road if you wanted to dive. Definitely off the beaten path, but could cut through public beach and walk to dinner/lunch. Would have preferred to have been able to get some type of breakfast at hotel besides room service or upscale resturants. Loved the access to the beach chairs and the beach towel service. The only way into the hotel without embarrasment after swimming in pool or ocean was to come up from the basement or else walk straight through lobby.

One of the Birthday girls. Aug 16, 2009
We were upgraded to a room with a view of the pool/ocean since we were celebrating all 4 of our 40th birthdays. The room was ... clean, the shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, etc was plentiful for all 4 of us. The staff was AWESOME!!!! Fitness center was great, the pool was large enough and deep enough so that families could be there along with people w/out children (which is what we were) and still have enough room. The cookies and lemonade at 2:30 were a great treat. The hotel was only about 2 blocks from the water taxi, and less than a mile walk to other bars/eateries.The only thing going on there was some construction, which I didn't know when I booked, honestly, it wasn't much of an inconvience. You could hear some digging and jack hammering, and the poolside restaurant was out of order due to the renovations, but you didn't have to worry, there were poolside servers ready to take your order for whatever you'd need.My friends and I got a kick out of [...] the pool guy. Not only did he move the lounges around for us...some needed shade, some needed sun, he moved the little tables to be between us, and layed out our towels for us.I can speak for all 4 of us adult women, that it was a super hotel, with GREAT service, a great location, and wonderful extras.

Sisters traveling Jun 10, 2009
The hotel is very clean and the staff for the most part was helpful. My sister and I went together. The pool is very nice. ... There are lots of lounge chairs. There is plenty of shade if you need a break from the sun. We are from the midwest so we wanted to enjoy the beach. The hotel is right on the beach which was great! My biggest complaint about the hotel was the food. The food was good don't get me wrong but EXPENSIVE. No matter what you order there is a 20% gratuity added so the servers can be terrible and it doesn't matter. For example I ordered a cocktail at the pool. It cost me $14.90. That was a little steep! We are girls in our 20s. If ever we go back and won't be without a car. To really get around a car is crucial. Cabs cost at least $20.
