Even the business center boasts a view. Arrive without a vessel? Simply hop on the water taxi for a day of shopping, eats or cocktails on fancy Las Olas Boulevard. Valet parking is also available for an added fee.

Rooms

Contemporary suites at Gallery ONE - A Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel spare no luxury, from gleaming stainless steel appliances in Euro-style kitchens to high-end bedding and marble entryways. Guests are sure to feel like VIPs wherever they turn, whether it's the walk-in rainfall showers or bedrooms with upholstered bed panels and wall-mounted plasma TVs. From the dining room windows, French or full balconies flanked with views of the Intracoastal Waterway, guests will see why Fort Lauderdale is called the Venice of America. Passing yachts should be the first hint.

Dining

Gallery One - A Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel capitalizes on a prestigious address with Vue on the Water, a contemporary seafood- and steak-driven restaurant with views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., the eatery appeals to light and hearty tastes with signature dishes like Island Conch chowder and Seared Flat Iron Steak.

Recreation

The Intracoastal Waterway serves as a luscious backdrop for swimming in the heated indoor pool, which is lined by tropical plants and palm trees. To enjoy the watery retreat firsthand, guests hop on the Water Taxi, which stops right outside the property before hitting other favorite local spots like Las Olas Boulevard, a Rodeo Drive to the locals, along with restaurants and bars.

Indoors, a fitness center feels more like a health club thanks to multiple treadmills, free weights and flat-screen TVs perfectly positioned for viewing while burning calories.

Great stay!

I would recommend this hotel! Staff is very kind and professional. I came down for a wedding, and I think I picked the best hotel. I had balcony view and skylight. It was amazing. Breakfast isn't included, but I just walked down to the Starbucks down the street (I couldn't bring myself to buy a $16 omelet in the hotel restaurant).

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

There are bars and restaurants nearby. And a water taxi which I wish I took! It gives you a little tour around the waterways for a reasonable price.

Double Tree - YAHOO for Business Travelers!

One block off the beach, ocean view, awesome staff plus the room was a suite to boot. Love! The only negative thing I could say is the carpet could have used replacing but that's minor compared to what you get!

Good digs

Room was clean, and comfy. Smaller than other double tree suites I've stayed at, but nice none-the-less. Price was appropriate for the quality of the room (mid-range). Couple of minor issues: Valet is forced, and $25. This is too high for people not buying a cheap room. This overcharging trickles down to even a small bottle of Zephyrhills water (a courtesy in most places) being $4.27 (!!!) ... this is not imported fancy water mind you. There are just certain things a hotel shouldn't overcharge for as it leaves a bad impression even if you're a millionaire. That and no free WiFi. I did plan on getting bothered by the above issues, but chose to ignore them and enjoy the nice location, clean room and fun time. I likely will stay here again if there are no better deals popping up close by. Just bring water and your own cell/modem.

Not worth the price

They did not have the room we paid for. The room they gave us had damage and problems with the A/C. They switched us and our next room had the glass in the slider coming out so you could not use the slider in the livingroom.

Rude staff, poor customer service, on a high way, uncomfortable

-This place will nickle and dime you every chance they get. Want a late check-out? That will be $25 an hour? Checking in early? There's a price for that too. These prices would be understandable if the hotel gave off the slightest impression that it was busy. Given the traffic in the restaurant, pool, and lobby area, this hotel is about 30% full at any given time. -There were obvious scratch marks on the headboard of my bed. Those made me a little uncomfortable. Let's hope the sheets were thoroughly cleaned. -There was mold in the shower tiles. -The wifi I purchases goes in and out, making it difficult to get any work done. -The public wifi in the Lobby only works if you are sitting on top of the router. Need access to wifi in the restaurant? Get you're meal to go. -When I checked in, I was put in a room directly under construction. I had to call and ask if the hammering was going to stop anytime soon, and then was notified that there was on-going construction on the floor above me. Given the fact that this is a business hotel located off a high way, I'm not sure why they assumed I would not need any type of peace to do work in my room. -Whenever I approached reception with an issue, I was always given an attitude, a huff and a puff, and was made to feel like somehow I was inconveniencing them. Oh, excuse me. Sorry that I need to constantly approach you about your horrendous hotel. -They don't have cabs waiting, you need to ask them to call you one. They ask you to give them 10 minutes, but in the 3 experiences that I have needed a cab, they took about 20-25 minutes. That makes a difference when you are headed to the airport. -The mini fridge has temperature control issues. I bought fresh salad greens and other vegetables that were frozen solid over night. Anyone who is familiar with fresh produce should know that you can't freeze and de-thaw mixed greens. Obviously my food was spoiled. -Upon checking in, they gave me two 310 calorie cookies. I would have rather had something that wasn't 1/2 a days worth of caloric intake. -If you want to get anything from the restaurant, don't assume it will be quick just because the place is empty. On the contrary, it will take a maddeningly slow wait time to get whatever you order. Even if that's coffee. Depending on who you get, coffee can be a different price, and sometimes they are doing you a favor for not charging you extra for the cream you would like in it. Sometimes the cream is free, and sometimes the free is an extra 20 cents.
