We were there to visit family who lives nearby. The staff was very friendly, and we were extended a late arrival and a late ... check-out, which were very helpful for us. They also printed directions for us to church and a movie theater. However, they could not recommend many nearby places to eat. Our room was very clean, which is upmost for us. We did need to call twice for maid service who had forgotten to make-up the room while we were out. The lobby and elevator areas were nicely appointed. When the renovations are completed, this will be an even nicer place to stay.

Really enjoyed the stay and had a great time. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The pillows could have been firmer. ... Hot breakfast should be included in price of hotel room instead of paying extra.

If you are wondering if you will need a car to enjoy your vacations, I will say yes. Consider the rental car expenses included to your trip. There is too much to see around Fort Lauderdale.

Clean hotel with nice pool

We traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to visit someone undergoing a hospital stay. Although this wasn't a "fun" trip we were still ... able to relax and enjoy ourselves at the nice pool and hot tub. The rooms were clean. I had hoped to be able to walk/jog to the beach in the early AM (rather than driving down and parking the car) since the hotel is only one mile away from the beach but there were not consistent sidewalks and the busy road traffic made it unpleasant/unsafe to walk the short distance there. All in all I would stay in this hotel again if the need were to arise.

We went to the beach every single day, which we enjoy very much. We did depend a lot on the rented car, without that we ... couln't enjoy our vacations. Next time I will choose a Hotel right by the beach. I will recommend Fort Lauderdale to anybody that want to have a great vacations.

We chose this hotel because it was 5 minutes from my brother's apartment and only 5-10 minutes from the beach and pier. It ... was very clean, the people that worked there were very friendly, and very quiet.

I was on a business trip to Fort Lauderdale and booked the Courtyard because of prior stays at Courtyards and the included ... breakfast. Upon checkin, I was advised that because of booking through Orbitz, breakfast was not included, but was $10.95 each day. The hotel was under renovation and half the wing I was on was closed, with open pits dug outside the room and a general "under construction" appearance.

We went to breakfast each in the neighborhood each morning, Dennys has a location across the street. Went down to the beach ... for a few hours, had dinner at several of the restaurants along the beach walk area. For those that like to shop ther are a few plaza near by. We definately plan on returning.

The room was comfortable and spacious. I was there for eight nights and the staff were always friendly and helpful. I ... requested to move to a room overlooking the pool area and they made the switch the next day. The room was clean and decorated nicely. I spilled some water on the carpet and used a towel to soak up the water. The white towel turned brown from the dirt. I wonder how frequently the carpets are cleaned. It made me wonder why hotels use carpet, why not laminate wood?
