The hotel is in a nice location and it's convenient, but it has over-priced everything, from parking to "happy-hour" drinks. ... It was comfortable and clean, but I recommend parking in the adjacent lot for $7/night, over the mandatory $15-25 at the hotel. Elbow room is right down the street and beach place 2-3 blocks. Lots to eat for cheap and good all over walking distance. Also, don't pay 20 bucks for an umbrella at the beach if you can buy one at the store two blocks away for 15$.

Howl at the Moon Saloon was a blast then of course the casinos nearby were fun. Coconut Creek Casino was the best. Hard Rock was OK but seemed to have a bunch of drunk kids late at night, due to the fact they serve 24/7.

I would have given the hotel 4 stars if it weren't for the valet. When we got there the valet who seemed rumanian or ... eastern european, kept checking out my girlfriend to a point where she told me this guy was making her uncomfortable. Besides that, our stay was great we got upgraded to a mini-suite. the staff was nice, hotel is clean. I would absolutley recommend.

Just as was advertised and reviewed
Love to travel Kathy Aug 17, 2009
After looking a lots of hotels and locations and reviews of all of them we chose the Courtyard Marriot. The location was ... perfect, close to shops, dining, trolley transportation, busses, water taxis, water rentals, boat tours and of course the beach. The staff was superb with always smiles and courtesy. We went out one night and returned at 5 am and still the welcome back was with big smiles, light humor and perfect service and quickly. We will stay here again and bring friends. The only small drawback was a small pool but with the ocean so close it wasn't a big deal. Bartender made me a scrumptious drink special and all was well. Raina dn heavy winds came in for an hour but as soon as they were done the staff was fixing the damage and bringing out fresh towels. I saw a gal bring out freshly laundered towels about 3 times in an hour. There were families, couples and small groups staying there. Various nationalities and ages. All seemed pleased with their stay. Rooms were immaculate and the view was wonderful. The price was very reasonable, $129 for a Sat night stay on the beach. Bumba Gump Shrimp was right below the hotel and made for a quick lunch during the rain. Not a fancy resort but perfect for us. Thanks, Courtyard!

Jami Jun 7, 2009
I found this fabulous hotel on Orbitz and read all the reviews before choosing the perfect hotel. It was close to the ... airport - so cab fairs are reasonable. The hotel is nice and clean, there is a mini-refrigerator in the room, free internet service for all guests and the personnel are super friendly and very helpful. We had some light bulbs out and a hair dryer that broke and they came and replaced it right away. When we asked about good local restaurants, they were quick to offer GREAT suggestions. Coconuts across the street is an AWESOME place to eat! We loved it! The beach is literally a 2 minute walk - simply go to the Mezzanine level of the hotel, go out by the pool, down some stairs, across a road and there you are right on the beach. The best time to go is in the morning because there is a great sandbar for young kids to play out in the ocean on. There is a GREAT pizza dive just a block away and the food is inexpensive and AWESOME! Make sure you bring cash - that is all they take. Also, the strip is full of shops and restaurants - great news is CVS is just a few blocks away and the prices are very reasonable. You can get bottled water and everything you need. By the CVS is a terrific Haagen Das Ice Cream parlor. I promise you cannot stop with just one trip! In reality - it was the perfect vacation for our family - 2 adults and 2 children (ages 4 & 10). We have no complaints and no regrets. It is by far - THE BEST FAMILY VACATION WE HAVE EVER TAKEN! I recommend it to everyone! We will definitely be going back again next year... and probably for many years to come!

Great Rooms & Getaway for Couples
J Johnson May 27, 2009
We went to just hang out on the beach and relax. The weather cooperated for the most part. If it had to rain it was good ... that it was usually early morning or late afternoon, so we were able to hang on the beach for a good part of the day. The location was great. Very convenient for restaurants and bars and shopping. The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. I was very pleased. The only thing that would have been nice would have been a complimentary continental breakfast. It was a different atmosphere than other places we have been since the past couple years we have done the all inclusive thing. But it was a pleasant weekend getaway and we enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing I thought the hotel was missing was a jacuzzi.

Great location but not cheap
Rick the nice guy May 2, 2009
The location of this hotel is excellent. However, parking is a problem as you are required to pay $27.50 a day to park in ... their lot. We found a place nearby for $15.00. We were not familiar with the area and wished to use the concierge's desk to answer our questions. We stayed two nights and did not see anyone at the desk during that time. We thought of using the pool, but upon inspection we realized that it had not been treated recently and was extremely murky. The hotel is not cheap especially with the parking issue. If we go back to Ft. Lauderdale, we will spend some time looking for a hotel other than the Marriott.

I was surprised at how clean the room was, and how close it was to the beach. If you prefer a quiet place to stay, I would ... recommend this place during the week, but during the weekend, especially when it's nice out during the holiday, it's very crowded and loses its quiet atmosphere.
Traveler type: Couples
St. Bart's is right around the corner, and they're a great place for a reasonable breakfast or lunch, especially compared to the other places to eat. We got food to go from there several times during our stay.
