2 nights at the B Ocean Hotel
Overall, a great experience. The staff at the front desk as well as room service were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were well appointed with a very slick and pleasing modern feel. The view from the enormous window out on to the ocean was fantastic. Only minor quibbles that led to an "average" rating on the Amenities: * Workout facility/gym was subpar. 3 treadmills, one bike, and a very old piece of universal weight equipment that did not operate smoothly. * No business center. Wi-fi is included for free in the rooms which is great but as I only had an iPad with me I went searching for a desktop with a printer that I could use. No luck * No mini-bar. What can I say, I had a hankering for a beer fairly late one evening but nothing was on hand. All in all, very minor concerns and certainly not enough to detract from what I thought was an excellent stay at the B Ocean. Would definitely stay there again.

Wannabe W hotel...and FAILS!!
Here for the boat show this weekend and the hurricane is reeking havoc. The streets keep flooding and bridges are closed as well as main roads. Ā That is no fault of the hotel, I know, but an email with a heads up with ways to get there would have been nice. Instead it took us 3 hours to get on, off, almost back on, off then on the island again. Ā The valet was very nice and apologetic about having to bring us in through the alley or what he called "the back way". Ā Walking in my husband and I had the same thought... A slightly run down W Hotel. Checked in and left our bags with bellhop. Worried at first as my husband had his IPad in the bag but it WAS there when we got back! We took the $8 shuttle(driver charged us $10 each btw) to show. Came back for dinner and to get keys for room. Ā Amazing views from room and the room was clean. Shocked that there was no fridge(didn't read reviews before going). But beware walls are PAPER THIN!!! I mean I swear if you're quiet you can hear the people in the next room breath thin! And our neighbors set their alarm and got up at 4 AM! And are very chatty morning people. Ā Ate at saia. Food, at best, was ok but street was crowded with locals checking out the flooding. Ā So I got to watch some family sit on the other side of the window and eat fast food and stare while I ate. Ā You would think the hotel would have asked them not to loiter on the property instead of allowing them to use it like a public park. Ā There's really nothing around the hotel at night except 3 dive bars(a woman kept flipping her skirt up with nothing on underneath and nobody reacted kind of dive bars)and nothing in walking distance so with streets and bridges closed we went to bed early(which was good since the neighbors I mentioned earlier....). Over all I would say this place is ok if you just need a place to crash and you're a heavy sleeper but other then that it's nothing spectacular I would spend my money on again. Ā Check out hotels closer to Los Alos; we will next time.

B Ocean
This is a great hotel. My only complaint is the fact that I booked a king ocean view/beach view room and we got a king room but it was to the side of the building. We could still see the ocean from our view but it wasn't what we had expected. Friends of ours got the "same kind of room" but they were in the front of the building with a full ocean view and a way nicer shower, etc.. But it is one of those hotels where all rooms have a great view, so it was still fine. Great location, simple and updated rooms. I recommend this hotel.

A night from HE**
The staff was adequate. However, the room was not what I expected. It was not clean, and subpar. In fact, the cleaning staff was still cleaning when we arrived at 6pm. The AC was noisy and so was the hotel. I checked out early because I got up very tired. No one asked me why, and I was told I would have to speak to Tyler Hunter who was only available M-F 9-5pm... What?!!! You don't have anyone to resolve issues on the weekend? Moving on... I have called Mr. Hunter several times this morning (Monday)and to no avail. It's almost like he's a phantom being. No call back. I have called their "corporate" office...no response. However, I can rest assure you that my concerns will NOT go un-heared. Terribly over-rated!!!!!!!!!!!!!
