it wasnt the room i saw on the picture but it was nice and was a good deal price wise

the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great! the staff were friendly and helpful!! overall was a wonderful experience! one complant i wish the pool didnt close so early it was open til 10pm which i thought was a little too early.

The hotel was nice, when we arrived we were issued a key to our room when I entered the room I thought "How nice, they have snack here for us". Then I looked around and realized there were peoples suitcases and the bathroom had been used with dirty towels on the floor. I went back to the front desk and was told there was a mix-up and they would figure it out. Ww went to dinner while they fixed it. But the thought of them giving out a key to an occupied room was scary. The breakfast was good for the price. The beds comfy, ona scale of 1-10 the cleanliness was about 9. Lots of children running around all hours of the day and night, we had to complain 2x about this. The hotel was worth the the price we paid, but definetly not worth the $175 regular rate.

Access from highway is difficult and quite confusing. Tried to check in at 3PM. Rooms not ready. Total confusion between housekeeping and desk personnel. Finally got a room about 20 min later, it was okay. After putting our stuff in the room, no shampoo, nor regular coffee for the in-room coffee maker. Desk said they were "out" of both. Shortly, they delivered shampoo (from competition). No regular coffee though. Day 2, we went out for the day. Returned and room was made up. However, glasses we had used were still half full...housekeeping never touched them. Not a bad stay, but we would not return to this place again

This was our Valentine's getaway, and was very enjoyable. The whole stay was smooth and problem-free. The check in staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet. We found out later that the first and second floors were being remodeled at the time, but we never heard a peep of construction. The only knock I would even mention is that the TV picture was pretty low quality, but I've probably gotten spoiled by my LCD at home. However, one of the staff told us that new TV's and new beds were part of the remodeling, so even that won't be a problem next time. I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were not as clean and tidy as on previous visits there. Rooms also needed maintenance (dirty stained carpets, marks/scuffs on walls. Room very outdated and not 'staged' well. 2 big chairs shoved in one corner, blocking walking area. Only one lamp on 1 side of bed which was wobbly. Requested another lamp but was immediately told there was none available. (Hmmm...there were maybe only 15 rooms occupied during our stay.) Noisy people on 2nd & 3rd night there. Breakfast was good and fresh. Have had better stays in our previous visits there and at other 'Windgate's' on the east coast.

A nice, clean and quiet hotel.

All employees that I dealt with, from the desk clerk, housekeepers, maintenance and breakfast service attendent were friendly, helpful and eager to service and completely overshadowed those little shortcomings in an older facility

My boyfriend and I spent a week together here and it was alright. We got a room with a bed, which I guess was all we really needed and for what we paid, that's what we got. Literally. There wasn't even a closet or a safe. The housekeepers were unbelievably rude! Despite having a do-not-disturb sign on the door, the housekeeper opened the door and barged in on us, without even bothering to knock, and even worse, not bothering to say excuse me or apologizing! That incident didn't sit well with me. The hotel is nothing special but it's not a bad price and it's in the middle of Destin. There's a lot to do, just not at the hotel, and the people that work there suck. Otherwise, I guess it's just dandy.
