The Palms of Desort

The Palms of Destin Resort have very neat and clean rooms. It is located at one end of Destin and has a lot of Seafood restaurants and other attractions nearby. The staff at the upfront offered guidance on where to dine and hang out. But when the time came to ask they only had one suggestion. This place is across the Henderson Beach Park. I thought the Pams were located right on the beach. That was my only disappointment.

"Great View, Great Service"

The view from our room was great. We stayed in the West tower 12th Floor. We had a terrific view of the beach, golf course, and 1st class resort pool area. The hotel is located close to everything. The staff was great. This is a great place to stay!!!

"Fantastic family getaway"

We enjoyed our stay! It is a lovely hotel and has beautiful pools and a shuttle to the beach! We were disappointed that although there was a coffee pot in the room but no complimentary coffee. There is Coffee shop on site but it was closed on a Sunday morning at check out time.

July 4th visit

The service at the front desk was a bit slow, but it was July 4th weekend. Overall they were very friendly. The hotel and rooms are very clean. They have washer and dryers in the rooms which is great at the beach. They have no private beach so you have to go to a public beach. They do offer shuttles to the beach but with umbrellas and coolers its probably better to take your car, especially if you are a family. They have a huge parking garage, but it was always full (again...July 4th) We never saw the pool or any other amenities, just the beach. I would stay there again!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

On a holiday weekend, go to dinner early to avoid long waits. We saw reviews for many restaurants...AJ's lived up to the hype! Great food! We were told it was a 45 min wait but only waiting 25 minutes. Atmosphere is loud and vacationy...loved it. The broiled seafood platter was great...you could taste the freshness. Also tried Louisianna Lagniappa...not very good! Service was slow and the food was prepared in a way that you couldnt even taste the fish...battered and buttered too much...smothered in cheese..etc.

"Nice but too expensive"

The condo was very nice other than the fact that the carpet was not clean. When you walked on it your feet would be gray on bottom. Oh they also put a hold on your account for $150.00 which is suppose to be taken off once you check out but I'm still waiting.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Landry's and Joe's Crab shack are just a short walk from the Palms. Service was great and the food was great also. Fudpucker's is close but I don't recommend it. Service sucked and the food was not that good for the price.

Stayed in the ...

Stayed in the Villa....wasn't what we expected. BUT rooms were nice and large. Checked in and had to manually carry luggage to rooms...no carts were available. No wireless internet access in rooms, accessed only in lobby and pool area. Front desk employees not very helpful. No room service but is across the street from beach and Ruth Chris steak house.
