Great location, cozy and comfortable. Good bang for your buck!

I was nervous about booking this hotel, and the only reason I did was to be across the street from my favorite spot on Destin's shores. At $99 a night, it was well worth it. Pulling into the parking lot is a bit misleading. The set-up of the hotel gives it a travelodge feel, but don't let that deter you... The rooms are clean and spacious! They have a nice beachy feel and a very cozy feeling. I love the entry system, no keys to hold on to. Just remember a short code and you're in. There is a cute and yummy restaurant attached to the hotel and each guest recieves a complementary pastry and drink for breakfast each morning. One thing I didn't like was the access to an actual employee. There is only someone there for a certain part of the day, which made it difficult to contact someone in the event of an emergency . We arrived late to the hotel an had to check ourselves in, and the place we picked up our code for the room has other guests' codes in it, too. It felt a little unsafe... Other than that, it was a lovely stay. They have a kiosk for motorbike rentals and surf boards which we utilized. We had a great trip and we will definitlely return but make sure to check in at the proper time so no one can get to our code to the door!!

Good Location, Loud AC

This hotel was clean and the room and the interior features of the room were very nice. Parking was a nightmare later in the evening; I'm not sure if there were guests who had brought multiple vehicles or if this is just standard procedure, but a lot of people were parking along the streets because the lot was full. I wish we had gotten a chance to hang out in the hotel's pool. The beaches are a short walk away, although the resorts/condos/whatever that are right along the beach all have staked claim to several large swaths of beach, leaving only small areas for the public to use. We were provided breakfast vouchers for the nice little cafe around the corner, and we enjoyed our breakfast there, even if it was a little basic (Danish, muffin, or bagel & Coffee or Juice) The only complaint I have is that the air conditioning unit was obnoxiously loud at a very low frequency. I thought maybe someone had a big truck or something running outside that just happened to resonate with the room, or that maybe we had gotten the room next to some large machinery in the bowels of the hotel, but eventually realized it was the AC. It sounded like some high-wattage subwoofer test, and I ended up with a pretty severe headache. I turned our unit off for a while, which helped a lot, but you could still hear the rumble from the neighboring units. This wasn't even noticed by the others in my party, so I don't think it's a very big issue, but if you're sensitive to things like this you may want to think carefully about staying here, or at least be willing to shut off the AC. Another note: they also have some policies limiting the age of guests to only those over 25 unless there is a parent present. We're old enough that it wasn't an issue, but I thought that was interesting.

Good location, so-so amenities

The location, just across the street from a lovely white sand beach, is good for those who want to spend a lot of beach time. It is also close to a nice shopping center and multi-screen movie theater. It is a two story building with outside corridors. The second floor is better, since the walkway can serve as a patio. If you sit outside on the first floor, you are looking into the radiators of automobiles from about 3 feet away--not inspiring. The breakfast is minimal--coffee or juice and a muffin--but it is free. The pool could be nice, but there are no poolside umbrellas or shade, so unless you are a lizard or have plans to become one, it is probably unusable. Our room was on the ground floor, and was the closest to the office. This gave no privacy, unless the curtains were fully drawn, which created a cave-like atmosphere. The room furnishings were adequate, but no more than that. We had planned to stay for five nights, but transferred to another hotel after one night.

Great beach, but bring you own beach chairs and umbrellas or plan to rent them for an exorbitant fee.

Close to the Beach

The Beachside Inn was just that beachside. it was right across from the beautiful Destin beach. It was in a very nice upscale area of Destin. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomadating. The room was your typical hotel room. Loved the tile floors, no carpet. The restuarant had great pizza. I hope to stay there again soon.

Good stop hotel

The Beachside Inn is just that, beachside...it's across the street from the public access to the beach in Destin, FL. I'd go back the next time I go to that portion of FL. There's a restaurant on site but I didn't eat there.
