We were moved to the Conch House
It would have been ok had I been in Florida to get trashed every night and pass out...like everyone else at the hotel. If you are actually sober for most of the trip, I wouldn't recommend it. The police were there more than once and an ambulance as well.

Conch House not SeaSide Inn
At the last minute my reservation was transfered from SeaSide Inn to the Conch House. Seaside Inn filed chapter 13. I want to thank Orbizt for all their work. I didn't lift a finger, and they found me a BETTER hotel (Conch House), at the same price I orginally booked at, within the same location I wanted to stay. I must say the Conch House was outstanding, and would recommed this hotel to all. [...]

We had problems with our appartement doors because of the storm they had in Daytona one week before. The dorms smelled a little bit.

Exactly what we expected
All the reviews were correct in saying that the air conditioning didn't work. We were lucky that it was cold & didn't need it. The office had fans for us to use, so they are aware of the issue. Otherwise, it wasn't a "bad" experience. It's just an old hotel that needs some TLC. The elevator had a "moldy" smell to it and some of the exterior paint was peeling but the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the kitchenette was very convenient. Hopefully you like a very firm mattress, also. Otherwise, bring a soft mattress pad or some Tylenol PM to help you sleep. The price was perfect in that we got the 2nd day for free. I have stayed in much worse hotels than this, but I've also stayed in much better. I would recommend this hotel if you are only looking for a place to sleep that is close to everything at a very reasonable rate.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
The hotel charges $3.00 per day for parking and $1.50 per day for the use of an in-room safe. Make sure to find a good lighted parking spot and leave your car there. If there is any kind of event going on, you will not be able to find a place to park later on. Also, the staff will refund your safe fee when you check out if you don't use it. So, remember to ask for your money back on that, too.

gave us a box fan for air conditioning
The employees were nice, and the location was literally within walking distance of everything you would want to do in the area. Thats about as positive as I can get. Needless to say this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. They falsely advertise they have air conditioning, but upon seeing an old dust covered and rusted hunk of metal with knobs and controls that have been torn off I was quickly informed all they could do is give me a box fan. Which did little to nothing to help the temp of the room. The room was extremely musky and kept me up almost all night aggravating my allergies. Mold in the bathroom was simply painted over to conceal it from view, not very well might i add. Water not only shot out of the shower head but also out the hot/cold faucet knobs. The tv was rigged to not exceed a certain volume which made us have to use the close caption on it to hear most the channels, and neither of us are even close to being deaf. I definitely got what i paid for seeing as it was only $65 for 2 nights over new years eve, but i would definitely splurge on a nicer room next time.
