Beautiful Hotel
This is a very nice hotel. The kitchen area comes with bowls, cups ,silverware and dish soap which was a nice touch. The bathroom is a little small but was not a problem. The only meal we ate at the hotel was the breakfast buffet which was delicious. The beach behind the hotel is amazing, soft white sand, not packed with people, the beach gets busier down by Ocean Walk. The only complaint we had was we were with 4 kids and there is not a gameroom at the hotel. Plus it was a 3 block walk to Ocean Walk, but we walked the beach instead of the street, much prettier. We Parasailed for the first time, they offer this right on the beach behind the hotel..so much fun.

3 blocks away has a movie theater, many restaurants and a big Gameroom across the street. We played laser tag there also.

My review of Plaza Resort And Spa
The room was roomier than most hotels I've stayed & we loved the plasma TV. Housekeeping even came in the evening while we were out & emptied the trash, left more towels, turned down the bed & left a mint. The only downside was the bathroom is very small & no counter space. I had read on other reviews that there was a problem with how slow the elevator is but we didn't have any problems & we were on the 12th floor. The pool was directly outside our patio & the bar was to the left. Also found out that they had charged my credit card $300 after we left to cover any incidentals that may have occurred in our room!! 3 days later and I am still trying to get those charges taken off. Operations Manager very hard to get in touch with so now my credit card company is having to step in. I would say that I will stay here again but I'm not keen on a hotel putting charging on my credit card AFTER I have checked out.

GREAT value but not quite 4 stars
The room and hotel are nice, clean and beautifully furnished. The HUGE flat screen HDTV was great!! The kitchenette was very nice - granite and cherry. The "BUTS": The bathroom was TINY and with NO counter space for toiletries. Also, there was nowhere to put clothes in the bathroom except on the floor; not even a door hook. Nor was there anyplace to hang wet clothes and bathing suits. I could not use the room mirror for putting on make-up or styling hair as the dresser is taken up by TV and there is no nearby outlet. I paid a higher price for a "limited ocean view" and my view was AWFUL - mostly of a huge kitchen exhaust vent, concrete enclosure and parking lot. The ugly balcony was covered in pigeon droppings. (I did not ask to change the room as our family had three together). Parking is VERY LIMITED and TIGHT if you have a full-size vehicle (we rented a van). I LOVED the on-site dining, convenience store, poolside refreshments and lounge. Also the hotel is in walking distance to the Ocean View shopping and dining, Convention Center, IHop and Walgreens. And you can't beat the ocean! Overall the hotel is a very good (but certainly not excellent) value. Other members of our group paid much more to stay in the Hilton, a couple of blocks away, but liked our hotel and pool better. (Their oceanview was of the screaming amusement park patrons).

Ocean Walk attractions and water park are within walking distance. That was great for the teens and young adults in our groups. Walgreen's is right across the street - has tons of food, drink and beach stuff if you want a less expensive break or gathering.

Plaza Resort
Management needs to pay a little more attention to the fine details which are important to a hotel of this type. The pool should be clean in the early morning, not midday. Housekeeping may need an additional person as they seemed a tad slow in getting to our room each day, they did a good job once there. When I checked in they asked about our car, I had none, they proceeded to charge us for parking, but were quick and courteous to reverse the charges. Overall a pleasant experience, they just need to do a bit of fine tuning.

Beutiful resort, Great spa
Our stay was great, and the resort was beutiful. The resort has a wonderful spa, though a little expensive. The only suggestion I can make is to get a room with an oceanfront veiw. The riverview rooms face the busiest road in Daytona after dark. I can honestly say that we will be going back soon.
