La Playa Resort

When we checked in, we were unaware of the charge for being under 26 years old that we each had to pay. We rented a room that was supposed to be an ocean view room, but were put on the side of the building and our view was part of the ocean, but mostly looking at the city. The rooms are a little outdated, but we booked so far in advance that it was decent for the price.

Had a great stay at the La Playa. Loved the pool and bar specials, perfect for spring break trip. Room wasn't super new, but fairly clean. Some of the front desk staff was not very welcoming upon arrival, however made up for it when finding a roommate's lost sunglasses.

Half of Ocean View rooms are on side of hotel. Technically, you have a porch and can see the ocean. Accommodations are a bit "weathered", but functional, except our broken door chain with multiple holes and screws sliding out and the bad ballast in the bathroom sink light - don't expect luxury and customer service, but they do have speed channel. Rooms are efficiencies, which I found means they don't have to clean your coffee maker or give you coffee for it - they will provide if you ask, but don't ask them to bring to your room, as they will say they are short staffed, so you have to come and get it. And, if you don't wash the coffeemaker and cups...$20. They will charge for using safe and parking.

I was a little let down with the over all inside apperance of my room very run down. cieling tile in the bathroom falling down,old carpet and the cabinets in the kitchen where very old. The place was clean and the staff friendly.

We came to Daytona beach for the Nationwide race and we chose to stay at La Playa. We had stayed there last year and had a really bad room and said something about it and got a different room. This year we walked into our room and a big crawled across my bed, then one crawled up the wall, and then there was another one in the refrigerator. We immediately got out of the room and asked for another one. The staff was very nice and helpful, along with understanding. We got an upgrade to a different room that was cleaner but not as clean as we would like.

Clean enough for the money spent. Nice balcony with ocean view!

the room was outdated with a lot of worn bedding, towels and carpet. broken material like curtains and airco, light on balcony.

My daughter had a cheerleading competition. This is a very convenient location on the beach. Drug store, grocery store and shopping center right across the street, along with a variety of places to eat! The staff was very nice. Since it was cold outside, the indoor pool came in very handy for the kids and actually convinced us to stay another day, unexpectingly.
